Want to take on the role of a Warehouse Manager? Gear up to do it well. As a warehouse manager, you would be required to maintain the warehouse as well as take care of distribution operations by starting, coordinating, and implementing various programs. There are personnel, operational, and other procedures and policies to be catered to and a warehouse manager's job is to understand all of it and do it to the best of his/her capacity. You will also be expected to maintain the warehouse staff by undertaking various functions such as recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Warehouse managers are also supposed to be accountable for organizing the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of warehoused goods. From processing orders to efficiently operating mechanical and IT systems, the job of a warehouse manager entails it all. S/he would also have to liaise with customers apart from other departments in the organization. Maintaining records, be they financial ones or statistical ones, it is the warehouse manager's job to see that they are all in place. S/he will also have to manage budgets and ensure that quality objectives are maintained and delivery deadlines are not missed at all.
