A Sales Engineer's job includes selling composite scientific and technological products or services to various organizations. A sales engineer cannot do without having an extensive knowledge of the various parts and functions of the myriad products. Not just that, the candidate applying for the job of a sales engineer must have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the many processes that are undertaken to finally come up with the scientific processes that make these products work. Typically a sales engineer needs to prepare and deliver technical presentations talking in detail about the use of products or services to customers and/or potential clients. S/he may also need to consult with existing customers as well as product engineers to evaluate the needs for various equipment and also to determine system requests. The sales engineer will be expected to collaborate with sales teams to identify and comprehend customer requirements and offer sales support too. The aspirant would be required to obtain new orders while also renewing older orders and arranging delivery. It is also the sales engineer's task to plan and alter products so that the specific needs of customers can be met. S/he will also be expected to help clients solve issues or challenges they face with the equipment that has been already installed.
