Job Description

This position will be the Head of Teva's Compliance and Ethics Program in India and will oversee the compliance organization that works in partnership with the functions and sites resident in India. Reporting to the SVP, Global Compliance Officer, this position is a key member of the Global Compliance and Ethics Leadership Team and will participate in other appropriate pan-Indian Leadership Teams required to lead the function and deliver impact. This position will be responsible for creating and maintaining a robust Compliance function covering Teva's Indian based Manufacturing functions, R&D functions, GBS functions and any other Teva organizations operating in India.
Bangalore is preferred location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actingas the Head of all Teva compliance functions and personnel operating in India, and as the senior point of interface with key functions and primary point of escalation.
  • Managing a 5-10 member India based compliance team.
  • Leading the Compliance team members based in India with responsibility to attract, retain and develop top level compliance professionals.
  • Working with global functions to determine overall compliance needs and then hires and leads the local compliance team that will further develop and operate the compliance program supporting each function. The Compliance program will include:
    • Compliance personnel
    • Compliance committees
    • Due diligence committees
    • Liaison roles
  • Building policies & procedures, approvals & controls, monitoring program, risk assessment processes, third party management, and all training & communications and programs to ensure the appropriate Leadership Tone within India.
  • Managing the Office of Business Integrity and investigating all hotline reports.
  • Driving the Compliance program to achieve Teva's target culture in India.
  • Participation as a member of the Global Compliance and Ethics Leadership Team(s) as well any pan-Indian Leadership Teams.
  • Providing reports on a regular basis to inform senior management of the state of compliance in India.


Qualifications

  • Scientific/technical, healthcare, or business Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university, and ideally Masters, JD, PHD or similar.
  • 20+ years Pharmaceutical or related industry experience.
  • 10+ years of Compliance and Ethics experience.
  • Knowledge of Teva (3+ years).
  • Ability to work effectively with very senior executives, both internally and externally.
  • Proven ability to lead teams.
  • Comfort in taking hard decisions that are best for Teva.
  • Extensive exposure to India or experience working outside of native country.
  • Excellent leadership and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Ability to problem solve in challenging situations.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated success in partnering with the multiple functions and organizations.
