The Moderation and Relevance Systems (MARS) team is at the heart of ensuring we can run a large scale and growing self-service advertising business, while inventing solutions that help advertisers successfully operate within our policies and guidelines for highly effective advertising.

The Advertising MARS team needs innovative TPM who can help translate the ever growing and changing business and customer needs into solutions that empower advertiser success. In this role, you will work closely with product, policy and tech teams to develop and deliver solutions that increase advertising performance and success, while ensuring non-compliant ads never reach our shopper customer.

We are seeking an exceptional TPM to join the Advertising Moderation and Relevance Systems team. We are looking for an individual that can lead moderation system initiatives to build and maintain strategic relationships with product and tech partners, define and implement solutions that ensure customer trust in Amazon's dynamic advertising landscape. As a TPM, you will be responsible for identifying, scoping, and delivering end to end projects. You will be comfortable working across time zones and through ambiguity. You thrive in project management and driving teams towards results. You will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take small to medium, complex tech projects and break them down into manageable pieces to deliver them in a successful and timely manner. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own the team's efforts to coordinate and unify road maps and technical direction across multiple complex systems.
  • Identify opportunities to converge overlapping technical efforts, and drive the long-term strategy and manage the roadmap, change management process.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to drive the tech development for defects prevention.
  • Address bottlenecks, identify inefficiencies, anticipate and make tradeoffs balance the business and customers needs versus technical constraints.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels of management, building trust across the organization, and demonstrating discretion with sensitive information.
  • Work with senior product and engineering leaders to define strategy and requirements.

A day in the life
  • Manage a set of cross-functional and cross-team projects aimed at reducing defects and improving customer trust.
  • Triage critical issues with your programs and ensure resolution and solution planning.

Amazon's Ad Products organization builds advertising experiences that range from custom experiences both on our sites and physical stores, to IMDbTV and OTT advertising, to Device advertising (Fire TV and Tablet), Audio ads, Sponsored Ads on Amazon and a whole lot more. We are constantly improving these products and building new ones to drive engaging and relevant advertising experiences for our customers. At the same time, we obsess over customer trust and ensure that we build products in a manner that maintains our high bar for customer experience. The Advertising Moderation and Relevance Systems team (MARS) are mission critical to building and preserving advertiser trust. We build modeling, automation and scaled solutions for evaluating self-service advertising campaigns to ensure they meet our guidelines and policies, thereby preserving effectiveness and trust. Further, our team drives campaign building solutions that help guide and educate advertisers on how to build effective campaigns.
Basic Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business or a related field
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • 3+ years of experience working directly with engineering and product teams
  • 3+ years of technical program management experience
  • 3+ years experience in leading software delivery via a team following agile development processes
  • Proven track record of leading the delivery of large-scale, high-quality systems
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems and design robust, scalable solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both technical and non-technical discussions Proven leadership and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications :
The ideal candidate will bring
  • Master's degree in engineering, science, mathematics or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in program, product management or related function
  • Experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated track record of cultivating strong working relationships and driving collaboration across multiple technical and operations teams
  • Strong data analysis skills the ability to run data analysis and synthe data to make on-point business decisions
