Drive implementation of projects related to installation of Wireless, IP services, ATM deployment etc. project as per PMP guidelines. Conduct site visits for identification, evaluation and assessment of field conditions in order to evaluate feasibility of installation project and specified design or business generation parameters. Plan and coordinate site preparation for readiness related to ramp up of resources and infrastructure (i.e. power, construction, back haul, colocation etc.) Monitor progress of site deployment through detailed activity plan for each site. Liaise with relevant teams to discuss service impacting event schedules to seek sign off. Conduct site audits from time to time and ensure compliance including site commercial terms with respective sites/parties. Analyze field conditions against design parameters and resolve escalated issues if any. Interact with vendors, construction contractors, logistics firms, Govt. authorities as appropriate to get requisite permits for deployment/installation. Arrange for inspections with required authorities. Conduct installation in case of standard and intermediate projects or monitor installation by vendor for complex projects. Design the route network for relevant projects, perform options analysis and plan the roll out of networks (e.g. LMSD, NLD, MAN) build outs within allocated capex and required timelines as defined by business team. Prepare HLD (high level design) document based on MRD submitted by business. Recommend efficient connectivity using existing network and build on existing network. Track movement of resources, installation, equipment testing and verification by NOC team. Conduct configuration as per Engineering plan design and run standard acceptance tests and stability tests as per defined parameters in test sheets.
Platform Planning & Design Engineer responsible for providing planning, optimization, capacity management solutions related to legacy and latest transmission technology.
. Responsible for delivering results that have direct impact on the achievement of results within Platform Planning and Design
. Analyses the short-term and/or long-term network capacity needs for current and future network requirements. This includes technology and network planning across multiple layers, introduction of new technologies into the network for new services and/or better network efficiency.
. Designs the network architecture and performs technical analysis of software, hardware, and network systems, systems engineering for front-end processors, multiplexes, LAN/WAN communications, network nodes, switches, and various transmission systems. Analyses traffic flows and trends, route planning, network optimisation, routing solutions and forecast of traffic.
. Performs integration with existing systems and conduct service validation prior to hand over to Service Operations team. Has knowledge on IP routers, switches, fiber optic connections, microwave wireless transmission, 2G/3G/4G, DSL and radio frequency systems, etc.
. Engages with LOBs and Products Team to understand market forecast/ trends, and with relevant teams and vendors to discuss solutions and cost estimates and CAPEX optimization initiatives. Also responsible for equipment planning via rfp while working along with commercial team.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience
. Expertise in SDH, DWDM, OTN & Basic knowledge on various vendor NMS/EMS systems
. Ability to devise solutions for various projects like Site, Ring, Legacy equipment optimization and migrations
. Good knowledge on various Telecommunication equipment's
. Knowledge in various products offered by service provider
. Able to identify problems and provide inputs to improve, change or adapt existing methods and techniques drawing from personal experiences and feedback
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
. Minimum of 2-3 years relevant experience in Telecommunications Engineering with good discipline, winning attitude and keep on trying to achieve a team goal mentality
. Graduation in Telecommunications/ Electronics
. Proficient in MS Office Suite with good skills in PowerPoint and Excel
. Good communication and Interpersonal skill
. Basic knowledge on IP networks
