The India Consumer tech team strives to continuously improve the consumer experience on Amazon India.
We are working on a brand new initiative which requires working across various platforms Retails system, Mshop and deliver an end to end customer experience to reach new customers.

We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to drive this brand new initiative.
In this role you will be responsible for scoping and delivering large projects end-to-end. Responsibilities include working with Product team to refine requirements, working with engineers to define the design and scope, project planning, driving technical decisions as needed and program management covering aspects such as working across multiple teams (distributed geographically) to drive execution, change Management, stakeholder management, etc.

The right candidate will possess a strong program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects, and will have a well-rounded technical background. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. You are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. As a Sr. TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Basic Qualifications :
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
  • 5+ years of technical program management experience

We are building a brand new product which focusses in tapping into the reach of Local Influencers to acquire customers from tier-2+ markets. We are starting a brand new team from scratch with great impact on customer experience and how they shop with Amazon.

We are looking for SDEs who are excited by the charter and looking to solve complex technical problems. If dealing with ambiguity and solving complex technical problems interests you, this may be a great opportunity for you to consider.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Define, design, and implement multi-tier distributed software applications.
  • Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and rollout system changes that meet requirements for functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, and adherence to development goals and principles.
  • Must be able to independently design code and test major features, as well as work jointly with other team members to deliver complex changes.
  • Must be able to effectively collaborate in a fast paced environment with multiple teams in a large organisation (software development, QA, Project/Release Management, Build and Release, etc.,).
  • Provide on-call production support for payment platform applications


Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline

. Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
. A deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of shipping software on time
. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.
. Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects
. Excellent oral and written communication skills
. Must be able and willing to think and act strategically and tactically
