    We are seeking an experienced technical writer or engineer with a writing background. The ideal candidate will have technical skills in one or more programming languages as well as demonstratable knowledge of web development technologies, including HTML and CSS. You will be part of a small team supporting hundreds of engineers developing a wide range of products for the desktop, web, and mobile.
    At Adobe, collaboration, self-motivation, innovation, are key traits, and you must be able to work independently and efficiently with engineers, product managers, marketing, and support. As a critical member of the Cloud Tech Team, you will be supporting a world class suite of products and writing docs that garner millions of page views per year.
    What you'll do
  • Plan, organize, and author specifications, API references and developer documentation.
  • Design architectural, workflow, process, and other diagrams with Lucidchart and other tools.
  • Own and manage documentation sets in the context of narrow release timelines.
  • Attend cross functional meetings to understand product direction and technical details.
  • Drive the content strategy based on product goals and support requirements.
  • Interface closely with support and product management to define and implement doc updates.
  • Be capable of wearing multiple hats: writer, quality assurance engineer and customer support.
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of technical documentation.
  • Design and/or maintain logical information architectures with a primary focus on usability.
  • Learn and use Adobe Analytics to monitor content web traffic and draw insights that can feed into user experience or product improvements.

  • What you need to succeed
  • Engineering degree or higher in computer science, English, or relevant field
  • 10+ years experience at a software company where most of your work involved authoring documentation for enterprise and developer audiences.
  • Experience diagraming workflows, processes and relationships.
  • Ability to understand high-level software designs involving multiple services /components and API /Interface Design
  • Capable of authoring in markdown, GIT-based environments
  • Working with various heterogeneous API teams spread across the globe to gather accurate information pertaining to the APIs.
  • Working on creating a documentation plan to record various schedules and interim milestones for every release.
  • Creating new sample applications depicting the overall functionalities of the APIs.
  • Creating code examples in either Python, C#, C, Java and REST as part of the API documentation collection.
  • Working with API developers to create SDKs and SDK usage instructions for both internal and external APIs.
  • Experience in writing developer and API reference guides
  • Familiar with developer tools such as Visual Studio Code, Javadoc, Doxygen
  • Experience in automating the API documentation process using industry-standard tools such as Doxygen.
  • Understand the code of all API types and write code comments.
  • Programming skills/experience using Java, PHP, and any scripting languages.
  • Ability to do programming and develop small applications.
  • Experience with web developer tools such as Dreamweaver or similar products
  • Knowledge of content management tools like AEM, SharePoint, WordPress etc
  • Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, XML, Ability to understand and interpret engineering documentation and create Technical Designs, UML, DFD from information provided. Especially where the information comes from different engineering teams and a unified view needs to be presented.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, formatting, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work with tight timelines.
  • Great attention to detail, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
