Sr Specialist I - CloudOpsJob Description
In this role, you have the opportunity to Define end to end operational flows which ensures customer experience of service is understood.
- Ensure new technologies can be delivered without impacting customers
- Ensure Operational framework for Service Design is implemented
- Ensure that Operational requirements of services are fully understood
- Developing Operations framework
- Embedding best practices
You are responsible for
- Own and lead initiatives to create design documents that translate into successful systems implementation which includes reference architecture in conjunction with Engineering architects, infrastructure architects, Security, and/or outside vendors.
- Create business requirements to determine infrastructure design, potential issues, and related cost for each project/feature request.
- Socialize requirement documents, and develop implementation strategies that preserve the integrity, availability, stability, and scalability of systems and designs, consistent with cost (Capital and Labor) constraints.
- Demonstrate expertise and leadership in problem solving. Work with Engineers, Systems Administrators, Network Engineers, Architects, DB Administrators, and vendors to prevent or solve difficult performance problems.
- Interact with internal and external technical leaders to develop innovative solutions that meet market needs with respect to availability, functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability, realistic implementation schedules and adherence to architectural goals and principles.
- Contribute to the selection, prototyping, and implementation of hardware, Operating Systems, applications and tools, and technical solutions to business problems
- Organized with a natural inclination for planning strategic and tactical goals.
- Very strong leadership and ability to command respect at all levels of the organization.
- Acts as a technical liaison between product, service engineering and operations team
- Familiar with scripting language
- Solid understanding of cloud architecture and VMware
- Understanding of CI/ CD tools Jenkins, Artifactory, Git, Devops
- Production level expertise with containerization orchestration engines ie Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos
- Understanding of operational processes
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
- Strong cloud computing experience and able to guide engineers Tier 2/ Tier 3 (System/Application/Platform)
- Operations mindset with a customer- first focus Experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, Go, Perl or Ruby
- Experience working directly with Cloud providers/ infrastructure and their services AWS, Azure, database technologies, operating systems Windows, Linux
- System administration experience with Linux,Windows, MySQL and Tomcat.
- Experienced with virtualized platforms such as VMWare, KVM and Docker.
- Familiar with monitoring tools such as Splunk, DataDog, Graphana, NewRelic
- Experience with server deployment, licensing, security
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or related field required.

- Facilitation and team-building skills at all levels.
- Ability to influence, train, mentor and leverage the skills of others, including engineering partners and technical operations team.
- Ability to work independently and situations.
- Ability to understand E2E and solve problems by considering available information, prioritizing and making timely decisions
