Job Location: Chennai
Basic Job Functions:
The Senior Manager, Manufacturing leads the overall plant operations, including Manufacturing, Inventory control, and Operations Engineering to ensure product is produced to meet throughput, yield, efficiency and testing goals to fulfill customer demand and maintain the AOP. This position also serves as the key back-up to the Plant Manager and is called upon to serve as the Plant Manager's delegate when the Plant Manager is not available.
  • 7 to 10 years experience as a manager in a high volume manufacturing environment
  • Experience in rapid scale up of a new technology product highly desirable
  • Experience in the photovoltaic industry a plus

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering (preferred) or Operations related field

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Drive a World Class Safety culture.
  • Responsible for the planning, organizing, leading and coordination of all photovoltaic manufacturing activities according to required quality standards.
  • Manages and drives overall plant operations in meeting product Throughput, Quality, Safety, Yield, Efficiency and Costs with the necessary KPI Metrics.
  • Responsible for plant Start-up, Ramp and transition to High Volume Manufacturing and sustaining HVM.
  • Interacts with staff support areas to procure all resources that are required to manufacture a quality product at the targeted cost.
  • Coordinates the execution of manufacturing schedules and ensures objectives are met.
  • Manages human and material resources for maximum productivity, quality and upkeep the morale of associates. Communicate effectively and foster Team building.
  • Monitors manufacturing quality, productivity and throughput with metrics and adjusts processes/resources/schedules as needed.
  • Supervises and motivates a team of associates creating a culture of personal responsibility and continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for the development of the department budget and cost down projects. Likewise, consistently monitors and ensure compliance.
  • Responsible for inventory management and controls ie WIP variance and BOM issuance and wastage management.
  • Consistently improves the Direct Labour Headcount landscape as part of Labour Productivity
  • Manages site wide alignments in term of manufacturing practices.
  • Responsible for the training and development of all manufacturing associates eg PACE programs and identifying key training programs to improve the manufacturing bench strength.
  • Drives manufacturing process improvement using proper change management process.
  • Collaborate in Global forums eg (as Sponsors for MFG GAST, Operation GAT) to ensure standardization and successful roll outs of best known method for all sites
