Job Description

Candidates for all positions will work on team of developers to develop, deploy and support major brokerage clients applications.
Degree Requirement for all Positions: BS in Computer Science or related field
Java Engineer - Required Skills and Experience
Years Experience (Senior): 8-10 years
  • Java software development language, tools and techniques.
  • Unix and Linux shell scripting and PL/SQL programming. SQLPlus
  • Unix and/or Linux-based application servers: Tomcat and Jetty.
  • Excellent English language oral and written communication skills.
  • Source code control tools and concepts (CVS/SVN, branches, etc.).
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot existing code and make modifications to remedy issues within an existing Java framework.
  • Meet tight deadlines and work on several projects simultaneously.
  • Able to work within a team environment as well as work independently on projects.
  • Ability to review business/functional requirements and provide detailed design specifications and estimates of work required.
  • Ability to translate project design into code, working within an existing Java framework.
  • A background in financial/brokerage industry is a plus.
  • Familiar with Oracle / SQL tuning.
  • Knowledge of Java Design patterns.
  • Build tools: ant / maven, Unit testing
  • Testing tools: Junit, Mock Frameworks
  • Webservices REST or SOAP
  • Eclipse IDE
  • Java multi-threading concepts
  • Multi-processing concepts
  • Aysnchronous messaging: JMS/MQ

Experience with following a benefit
  • Any ORM
  • Spring frameworks
  • JIRA
  • Nonrelational databases ie key-value, document store, distributed.
  • Any relational database. Oracle preferred. DB2 a plus.
  • A background in financial/brokerage industry is a plus.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelors in Computer Science or related field.
  • At least 8-10 years of experience in software engineering.
  • English language oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in handling large projects with tight deadlines
  • Working with stakeholders across geographical boundaries.
  • Experience in being a Tech SME and go-to person in the team from a technical perspective and ability to work in a solution oriented approach in challenging projects.
