This position provides the opportunity and challenge of working with a large matrixed Engineering organization responsible for delivering secure, reliable and highly available data center services to all Goldman Sachs business units. In addition to the provisioning function, work involves interacting with various other Engineering teams to address performance and reliability issues RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Job description:
- This position will focus on delivering software projects in the field of Data Center Automation using various DCIM approches.
- The candidate will work closely with Datacenter engineers to identify, architect, design, and implement new automation workflows to handle various facets of Datacenter Infrafructure Management and Administration.
- Candidate will play a vital role in solution designing and architecture
- Role can consist of but not limited to physical/virtual environment(s) creation and decommission of assets, data validation procedures and integration with Web front-end UI's, Network Tier, Storage & Compute Tier using API and other industry standard protocols.
- The candidate will work with cross functional and engineering teams to develop and deploy automation projects.
- Candidate has to take product ownership pre and post deployement in production
- Candidate will engage often with customers in all sorts of ways.
- Candidate will play important role in mentoring junior develops and engineers in the team
You are required to have skills in the following areas:
- Experience developing in Java, Python, UNIX Shell scripting and batch files is highly desirable.
- Should be a problem solver and self-starter
- Experience in complete SDLC
- Experience in designing and implementing automation frameworks and flow models.
- Experience in developing specifications and test criterias for workflows
- Perform integrations between enterprise systems such as Order Management, Autorization, Monitoring and Reporting, Storage, Compute and Networking.
- Working knowledge of operating systems, network Storage, database environments, networking protocols and components including TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, SCP, SFTP and HTTP.
- Experience in developing documentation for automation as required by the application support teams for acceptance of systems changes into production.
- Must demonstrate a consultative approach, exhibit strong leadership skills, cleint focus, ownership, forward thinking and should be able to work effectively across a multitude of technical and non-technical groups in a diverse and talented team.
- Good to have knowledge on OpenStack, virtualization/cloud concepts, any DCIM software and Terrraform.
