Lonely Planet is looking for a software developer with extensive CSS & JavaScript experience to help us build exciting and new digital experiences. This developer will work closely with our digital product, sales, and marketing teams to deliver these experiences across
Using the Next.js React Framework, this software developer is expected to quickly and efficiently develop digital experiences achieving various business objectives and requirements. Along with communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, the role will implement new and ongoing software development projects ranging from high traffic microsites for our clients, landing pages for marketing initiatives, and new product features on

This developer will need to share our passion for craftsmanship in software design, development, continuous improvement in the techniques, tools, and languages we use; as well as have an appreciation for business objectives and delivering superior, innovative software solutions.
Essential Requirements

• Proven commercial software development experience (3+ years).
• Degree in computer science and related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Front end developer with experience in: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Node.js, React, REST APIs.
• Experience with a modular codebase, and the ability to reuse existing components to build user interfaces
• Previous experience with test-driven development, automated testing frameworks and related tools.
• Experience with GIT or other source control.
• Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical and business problems/issues to a non-technical audience.
• Comfortable using command line
• Willingness to overlap 3 hours with the US office based in Nashville, TN

Bonus Points

• Experience with GraphQL and Apollo
• Experience with CSS frameworks such as Tailwind
• You prefer writing in ES2015+
• Experience with Drupal CMS
