We are seeking Senior Safety Engineer, to own efforts developing the next generation of safe, AI-powered autonomous machine system software to get it formally certified. In this role, you will handle this effort through effective collaboration and communication across organizations, applying your experience in safety critical software and systems engineering.
What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop safety (ISO-26262 and ASPICE) compliant software for Autonomous Machines

  • Participate in the Requirements elicitation & documentation, development and verification of software for Autonomous Machines

  • Be responsible for one or more development pillars of Software Development Life Cycle – Requirements, Architecture & Design, Coding, Verification

  • Own and review work products related to ISO-26262 and A-SPICE – spanning, across multiple development pillars

  • Participate in or support Safety Analysis (SW FMEA, SW FTA etc.)

  • Work with geographically dispersed, multi-functional teams to drive complex technical and process related issues to closure

  • Work with internal ISO-26262 and ASPICE auditors, Process Planning teams to continuously help improve processes

  • Develop tools, methods and work flows to continuously measure and enhance the software development processes, to help successfully pas safety compliance (ISO-26262 and ASPICE) audits

What we need to see:

  • BS/MS in EE/ECE/CS or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 8+ years of overall meaningful experience, with minimum 5 years experience in development, integration, testing and debugging of safety critical embedded systems (with compliance to ISO-26262, ASPICE or equivalent)

  • Strong C programming skills, strong OS concepts

  • Knowledge of software build and test infrastructure, and software configuration management systems and/or source code version control systems (Perforce, Git)

  • Experience with agile software development methodology and familiarity with tools like JIRA, JAMA,

  • Passion for and desire to continuously measure and improve the software development processes and methodologies

  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to articulate, influence and help arrive at a consensus with stakeholders on various technical and process related, contentious matters

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Knowledge of ISO26262 functional safety and ASPICE methodology

  • Hands-on experience with Requirements elicitation, documentation and software architecture development as per ISO-26262/ASPICE methodology

  • Background with aspects of safety analysis, such as SW FMEA, SW FTA, SW DFA/ freedom from interference, etc.

  • Experience with having participated in Safety/ASPICE Audits

  • Familiarity with MISRA, CERT-C guidelines

  • Exposure to Image/Video processing algorithms and systems

  • Knowledge of video compression standards like H.264/H.265/AV1
