Microsoft Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering (CHIE) is the team behind Microsoft's expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft Azure's vision to be 'The World's Computer'. The Cloud Hardware Experience Engineering (CHEE) Team within CHIE is responsible for providing and servicing the hardware that powers our datacenters, improving customer experience, and managing the hardware quality of Microsoft Azure. We are the Software and Firmware PM team, focusing on SW/FW development supporting a secure, reliable, and most trusted cloud experience to customers and partners worldwide. Our CHIE FW/SW PM Team is looking for a strong, experienced, energetic, and hands-on Program Manager to drive FW/SW Security initiatives within CHIE and across multiple partner organizations.

  • We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Security Program Manager with a track record in HW/FW Security to come help us shape, define, develop, implement, and track innovative HW and FW Security solutions.
  • We are looking for an experienced Security PM who can be the liaison to our internal/external partners to drive Microsoft Azure security requirements to our partners and coordinate development efforts with different Azure Engineering teams.
  • In addition, he/she will be responsible for bringing in systematic FW integrity practices with clear security deliverables for both new cutting-edge New Product Introduction (NPI) programs and sustaining programs to the production fleet.
  • You will be driving HW/FW Security requirements for our Cloud HW infrastructure and ensuring our cloud HW/FW are compliant to Security requirements.
  • You must have a strong desire, passion, and ability to understand customer needs and a willingness to develop holistic approaches to product solutions that delight our customers and exceed their expectations.
  • You should have a good understanding of hardware, firmware, security, cybersecurity, secure development lifecycle (SDL), and compliance.
  • 5+ years of experience as a technical hw or sw program manager or in a technical role with systems experience
  • 2+ years of experience working in the cloud domain
  • experience in driving low level fw/sw security requirement and managing security compliance
  • experience in management of complex cross-group, cross-business, cross-disciplinary projects
  • experience and knowledge in sdl and threat model development
  • ability to deal with ambiguity, prioritize multiple strategic and tactical options, and drive issues to closure with a high bar on quality
  • manipulates and mines data from database tables, such as sql server, kusto, log analytics, and cosmos
  • technical savvy. know how to solve the hard problems, and demonstrate ability to work independently
  • proven ability to synthe and communicate solutions to complex technical problems.

  • knowledge of firmware security and code integrity along with security compliance experience (e.g., encryption in transit, encryption at rest, tls, etc.)
  • knowledge of building low-level sw to run on hw e.g., firmware, bios, bmc, bsp, … etc.
  • bs in computer science/computer engineering/ee or equivalent experience
