The Reaxys team is searching for a professional, experienced and passionate Front-End developer with 5 years Front End development experience. You will join a fast-paced and results-driven Agile development team working on a leading application that is used and trusted by Scientists, Researchers and Students from across the world. Your responsibilities:
Deliver on Product Development roadmaps
. Work in a diverse agile team to deliver on Product Development roadmaps in a timely manner.
. Conceptualising and applying innovative technical solutions fostered by solid software engineering knowledge.
. Carefully managing scope of releases and sprints.
. Efficiently communicating with Business and Technology stakeholders.
Drive Front End technology adoption and transformation
. Contribute to the spirit and success of innovation by advocating proactive exploration of the latest technologies (tools, frameworks, approaches, trends) with visible results.
. Team commitments and actionable outcomes materializing in product improvements and introducing managed disruption to existing products and services.
Contribute to Cloud and DevOps org. transformation projects
. Work with internal and external stakeholders delivering on our DevOps strategy
. Utilise the training tools available to you to stay abreast of the latest trends in Front-End computing
. Attend workshops and conferences to remain at the forefront of your chosen discipline
Drive Front-End technology unification across our portfolio
. Sponsor technology sharing across various Development teams
. Spark interest and help facilitate successful outcomes
. Assure solid foundation exists and there is interest for engineers to move between projects
What you should bring
. BSc. Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent
. At least 5 years Front-End Software Engineering experience working on ReactJS Single Page Applications.
. Extensive experience in ReactJS, Angular, Redux, ES6, Webpack, Node, NPM, HTML5, CSS/SASS/JSS, Bootstrap, HTTPS, Websockets / HTTP Streaming, JavaScript performance profiling, Restful APIs and Git.
. Experience in using feature switches.
. Experience and strong knowledge of OO concepts and the MVC and MVVM models.
. Very strong Quality first development experience with unit testing and linting utilizing JUnit, Selenium, Gherkin / Cucumber, a mocking framework like Mockito and SonarQube.
. Experience in automated testing at all levels for new and existing code, including the practice of test-driven development.
. Fluent English written and spoken communication skills.
Highly preferred:
. Experience using New Relic, ELK and other production monitoring technologies.
. Experience in continuous integration and advancing deployment builds to enable continuous delivery.
. Experience in cross functional collaboration between Development, QE, Ops and Product Owners.
. Experience in configuring Jenkins and using Git source control.
. Understanding of the current best practices in secure software development.
Would be beneficial:
. Experience or training in Chemistry or Chem Informatics.
. A clear understanding of team ownership of product quality from linting to code reviews to automation.
. A clear understanding of the importance of monitoring and alerting.
. A real passion for producing clean, maintainable, and extensible code.
. An enthusiastic approach, with the ability to self-motivate and multi-task when necessary.
