Job Description



Reporting to the Discipline Functional Head, Project/Geotechnical Lead Engineer, the Geotechnical Engineer will support the application and technology development of geotechnical engineering practices related to offshore and onshore engineering projects.
Roles and responsibilities
  • Proficiency in Design of Deep Foundation, e.g., steel and concrete piling, skirt piles and raked piles. Good command on On-bottom stability and Pile Drivability analyses. Knowledge on pile installation methodology and planning will be a huge bonus.Conversant with analysis software like GRLWEAP, SACS, SLOPE/W, WALLAP,PLAXIS, L-PILE, A-PILE, etc.
  • Proficiency in design of shallow foundations including design of shallow skirted foundation and suction caisson in deepwater scenario. Knowledge on shallow foundation installation methodology and planning will be a huge bonus.
  • Develops optimized design for soil foundation systems in conformity with quality standards requirements.
  • Interface with other Project Specialists and Designers and plan, co-ordinate, execute and control the geotechnical engineering activities for a project or a proposal in accordance with project/client requirements.
  • Be able to estimate man-hour requirements for engineering execution or proposals. Take responsibility for man-hours and monitor cost impact of technical solutions
  • Participates in clarification meetings with Client for proposals and execution of projects.
  • Provide technical quality assurance to offshore/onshore engineering projects conducted by other team members
  • Provide technical assurance to Business Units and Project teams through participation in peer assists/reviews
  • Initiate and manage studies with external Contractors and Consultants.Prepares and follow-up Subcontracts associated to the Soil investigation and Design of soil foundations system.
  • Represent Company at industry forums
  • Scope, plan and manage onshore and near-shore to deepwater offshore site investigations.
  • Evaluate and manage multi-disciplinary teams in geohazard assessments.Liaises with project engineering to assess geotechnical risks
  • Definition of technology needs and strategies across the geotechnics field


Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering -B. Tech/B.E
  • Postgraduate degree in Geotechnical Engineering

Essential Criteria
Significant experience in geotechnical engineering - Offshore/Onshore
  • Significant offshore experience in geotechnical investigations, foundation design, geohazard assessment and project management
  • Excellent communication and networking skills
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work


Desirable Criteria
Onshore/Offshore experience of soil surveys, site preparation and ground treatment technologies, and foundation design
