At Toll Technology Centre, Pune -India, we are looking for aSenior Applications Database Administrator (DBA)responsible for the management, maintenance, and all aspects of the usage of nominated databases for the Division.Reporting to the Head of IT Products, the DBA will be responsible for all production systems and their associated lower environments.
As a subject matter expert, some of the core objectives will include and not limited to the optimal performance of the databases and the governance and control on the changes to the databases in collaboration with the Applications teams. The incumbent will work closely with the Production DBAs on the oversight of backups, monitoring, and capacity management, ensuring databases and associated systems are recoverable and available to Toll businesses as per agreed SLA's.
As aSenior DBA Application, you will be:
  • Working with Solutions Architects and Applications Leads on database designs and schemas that meet the business models and company's business goals. Also working with application teams on advance query development, SQL performance tuning, schema changes, database maintenance and optimization.
  • Collaborate, validate, implement, and manage embedded queries, stored procedures, and database objects.Direct database architecture reviews and participate in code reviews providing insight for leveraging database capabilities.
  • Define and implement the governance and control policy on changes to the database environments. Validate and approve the requested changes from the Application Teams with proper documentation history.
  • Communicate regularly with IT management on database performance, with recommendations for maintenance and performance.Interface with vendors for product information, maintenance, and the timely resolution of escalated problems.Working closely with the Production DBAs where GIS assistance is required on backup performance, replication latencies, disaster recovery and data integrity checks.
  • Coordinate with Production DBAs on monitoring processes including logging are well maintained and acknowledged.Perform disaster recovery planning, implementation, and testing with Product DBAs.Keep abreast of new technologies in the areas of immediate responsibility.
  • Requested project and administration tasks are completed on time and to the satisfaction of the business and GF IT Management.Exploring opportunities to automate, introduce re-usable artefacts, to improve productivity, and otherduties as directed.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
Technical
  • Microsoft Database products including:.
    • SQL Server 2016,.
    • SQL Server Enterprise Manager,.
    • SSRS/SSIS
  • Technical knowledge in Database concepts and design, with coding and development experience using SQL and PL/SQL languages and very good knowledge of Windows server administration
  • Experience in Cloud Services like Azure & AWS, with good working knowledge of implementation of SaaS database services on AWS or Azure.
  • Fair exposure to Azure Synapse, Data Lake and Data bricks. Fair exposure to supporting databases for .Net applications,implementation of Analytics solution like Power BI.
  • Excellent hands on knowledge of database administrative tasks.
  • Good Knowledge of Intel hardware, and good understanding of DR/HA/BCP, with fair understanding of any Open Source databases
  • Education qualification: Formal degree completion in Information Technology
