We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist
Overview:
Enterprise Technology is an IT function that supports the Finance, Risk, Compliance, Corporate Functions and Operations Functions.
Enterprise Technology has a directs budget in of approx. $0.5bn and has 4,600 resources sat globally across multiple countries. The Finance Services function provides the financial and third party oversight and control across this organisation.
In particular, the Finance Services function is responsible for acting as Finance Subject Matter Experts to the CIO, Business management and Enterprise Tech global teams alongside providing operational and value added advice and services, including:
  • Direct cost management across all Service Lines / Platforms - production of flash through month end cycle, actuals review (ledgers) & FY forecast
  • Firm understanding of people profile (location, external / internal, open roles phasing) & link to directs and charges forecasts
  • Firm understanding of all Third Party Management owned by the platform and financial treatment thereof
  • Analysis & explain of monthly charges - governed & supply
  • Coordinate billing queries / adjustments
  • Software capitalisation & Impairment process
  • Reference data incl. unbilled & unmapped
  • Target setting, Maintenance & Reporting (directs & charges) in numerous systems - Pioneer, TM1 etc
  • Coordination of Framework / boundary changes / internal IT transfers
  • Coordination of RTB AOP
  • Analyse over/under recovery position from a functional & country perspective
  • Process Improvement & Efficiency
  • MI, Metrics & Reporting - feeding into platform specific, CIO & business reporting
  • Day to Day support activities in helping to run the function
  • Ad hoc requests
Qualifications
Principal responsibilities
  • Act as subject matter expert for Finance issues in the function
  • Understand and manage direct cost process governed charges analysis and reporting
  • Production of useful Financial MI and analysis of the P&L to enable early warning of issues so decisions can be made
  • Analysis of monthly variance for direct cost and governed charges and validate variance explanations to different audiences - IT CIO, business, senior IT leadership team, business finance, IT PM / PMOs
  • Lead the annual AOP cycle for the Platform from an IT point of view
  • Have the ability to understand and review monthly accruals
  • Management of business framework structure changes
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships between Business Managers, IT Service Lines, Enterprise Tech business and regional & HOST Finance
  • Monitoring and reporting progress against plans, quality & costs
  • Ad hoc analysis and reporting (MI decks) as required
  • Understand all processes and be able to update all core systems

Requirements
Experience within Financial services within large IT department or IT consultancy company (Extensive)
. Experience of producing high quality reporting to tight deadlines
. Understanding of infrastructure P&L and cost allocation methodology and models
. Previous experience of working & servicing globally distributed teams and understanding global issues
. Cost controller or IT Planning & Finance experience
. Familiarity with activity based costing and other cost methodologies
. Strong Excel (particularly large data sets / modelling) [Mandatory]
. Strong Stakeholder management / Relationship Management
. Educated to graduate level (or equivalent level of experience)
. Strong planning and financial management experience
. Analytical analysis, data mining and scenario modelling experience
. Experience of project management processes
. Highly organised individual
. Meticulous attention to detail
. Worked in a global virtual team
. Change agent and evidence of process improvement in previous roles
. Strong communicator - able to express ideas via various communication channels
. Strong Relationship Management
. Ability to investigate items in detail
. Ability to step back and look to improve processes and efficiency
. Ability to work with information from various systems and make sense of data and to express clearly with assumptions used
