  • Responsible for managing the reconciliation of Nostro cash breaks of FX, MM, NDF dealt in the name of Barclays Bank PLC London (Global Branch)

Provide operational support to the Asian, London &New Yorkbased traders
What will you be doing
  • Ensure non-receipt of funds are promptly followed up and resolved
  • Ensure matching of accounting entries versus nostro statements in the reconciliation system
  • Facilitate resolution of aged breaks
  • Provide good customer service and communicate with clients, trade support or front office and respond promptly to queries. Queries should be resolved in a timely manner, assisting areas of the bank/or clients
  • To ensure accurate and timely resolution of FX, MM and NDF trade breaks
  • Provide ad hoc information to key stakeholders within agreed timescales
  • Responsible for the day to day management, investigation and resolution of discrepancies in relation to a variety of FX products
  • Exercising good judgement skills to make the necessary decisions to address client queries and ensure all high-priority queries are escalated to the management promptly
  • Root cause analysis and escalation are required to manage control within our business
  • Daily reconciliations need to be completed between key FOBO systems, analysing and de-escalating any false breaks according to the procedures laid-out for each process
  • Clearance of breaks on key trade integrity reconciliations
  • Analysts are expected to escalate issues to management as they arise
  • Contribution to process improvement and understanding logic/completeness of controls is expected
  • Daily production of key metrics for Global Rates Operations covering all KRIs (Key Risk Indicators), such as aged breaks on FOBO (Front Office versus Back Office) reconciliations
  • Daily Reporting showcases the importance of the controls we perform and provides a performance indicator/health check as to the control environment
  • Analysts need to both understand the metrics and question the respective numbers prior to communication being delivered

What we're looking for:
  • Diploma or Degree holder in Banking and Finance / Accountancy
  • At least oneyear experience in FX, MM and NDF Process, Settlements or Investigations

Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Basic knowledge of Trades and Cash Settlements
  • Strong analytical and numeracy skills with the ability to perform complex analyse on the volumes and process flow to identify the root cause
  • Flexible and professional under pressure, the role holder will have strong interpersonal skills and good time management, with be committed and focused to succeed in a challenging environment
  • Detail orientated with the ability to multi-task, prioritise work assignments and consistently deliver to a high standard (quantity and quality). The role holder will possess the confidence to communicate effectively with internal staff and clients
  • Excellent command of the English language with strong written and verbal communication skills and evidence of proactive thinking and process development
  • The ability to understand and articulate Risk concerns through the Daily Business
  • Experience of escalation processes both internally and externally
  • The ability to contribute and challenge within a team to improve performance will be essential, along with the ability to communicate with peers and senior members of the team
  • Prior experience of producing high-quality data in a variety of formats
  • Proven ability to build relationships and to learn new processes and workflows quickly
