Job Description
Overall purpose of role
Application packaging team is responsible for managing all the 3rd party application repackaging and to support self-service packaging function. The deliverables are critical for the business to support their users in productions. The main function of this role is to support repackaging for all the 3rd party software and the self-service packaging for multiple platforms
Key Accountabilities
• The main function of this role is to support repackaging for all the 3rd party software and in-house app packaging for multiple platforms
• Work closely with the packaging head and help to delivered the delegated projects/operational tasks
• Engage with customer to obtain packaging requirements. Work with requestor to develop the solutions to meet requirements and scale to large environment.
• Ensure prerequisites or dependencies are accounted for in the solution delivered
• Engage Application Owner/Developer/Vendor to assist with technical configuration when necessary
• Create application package in MSI and/or Virtual format (App-V)
• Create SCCM package for delivery of application to target audience
• Publish applications for Citrix environment
• Provide third level support (L3) on packages and packaging related issue on Desktops/VDI, servers and Citrix platform
• Perform internal testing to ensure package complies with standards and also perform QAs
• Coordinate testing and User Acceptance Signoff with application owner or the appropriate Quality Services (QS) liaison
• ITIL knowledge
• Writing Script / develop as per packaging requirement : familiarity with VB script, C# or similar
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Encourages knowledge sharing
• Very strong analytical, problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
• Handle senior management query and take effective decision for active support.
• Good verbal skills are required to coordinate with different regions and understand business requirements.
• Good written skills are required to accurately present audit evidences to different internal and external auditors.
Decision-making and Problem Solving
Besides above technical skills, the individual needs to have excellent interpersonal skills, a strong team player; ability to work in highly dynamic environment; flexible and must possess the ability to quickly adapt to new systems and processes. Successful candidate has to possess excellent problem solving skills and strong crisis management skills – able to remain calm in stressful situations
Risk and Control Objective
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Policies and Policy Standards.
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
• Masters or Bachelors Degree (preferably in Computer Science/Engineering)
• 7-10 years of Exp Windows Installer experience
• Strong knowledge of Scripting, InstallShield and Orca
• Good understanding of SCCM 2012
• Citrix Knowledge
• Scripting / development: familiarity with VB script, C# or similar
