Business Development Identifying new business opportunities by identifying newer clients which are significant (Institutional/Corporate) and direct the sales team to initiate dialogue with them. Taking a lead role in deepening of existing large relationships which have potential to generate higher earnings/income for the bank. Taking a lead role in initiating newer businesses which has potential to become new vertical for the group viz. new exchanges, corporate and institutional members etc. Devise sales strategy for supply chain business and initiate vital leads for the sales team to generate business on an ongoing basis. Regularly reviewing business development/business performance/ competition of the team comprising RM/SRMs. Represent the banks in some trade bodies like ANMI/Exchanges for tapping business opportunities. To guide, handhold and develop the team to take bigger responsibilities and grow into the next role. Keep updated with market, industry and economic developments to identify new ideas and strategies to have sustainable growth Co-ordinate with various business units across Wholesale Bank, Retail Bank, Investment Banking, PBG and Treasury to help all achieve their business objectives. Convey to the team of all the management decisions and organization decisions to get their buy-in and full participation in meeting bank's goals To Achieve financial goal set up in line with organizational goals / Vision statements Credit Review Price Negotiation for Select Large Value Transactions Maximize Income while managing ROA, Self Funding & Mix of Funded & Non Funded Business Source business from Exchanges, Clearing Corporations, Custodians, FIBs, Brokers Source business From Non broker group relationships of brokers from real estate, retail sectors, NBFCs etc. Increasing share of wallet and income contribution from businesses other than domain- Exchanges & Co-op Banks To achieve Income and other qualitative targets Credit Approvals and monitoring Credit exposures Being a Credit approver with Discretionary powers (DP), Regional Head approves transactions and credit proposals after discussing the same with local Sales Team. If required, visit the customer and understand the business/transaction before signing off any proposal. Understanding client requirements for credit facilities, preparation of CAMs, ensuring timely disbursement of the facility, regularly interacting with client, getting market intelligence and ensuring the quality of credit. Drive other initiatives such as STP, Enet, Payment gateways etc with an objective to move physical transaction processing to system driven. Provides guidance to team members for business penetration strategy. Monitoring Credit exposures by regularly taking updates from RMs/SRMs on various credit exposures. Pre-emptive/Proactive exposure management by promoting RMs to gather information about various borrowers from different sources on an ongoing basis. Human Resource Management Regularly monitoring performance of the team members and continuously monitoring the productivity/role vs fitment/Career level vs business managed on an ongoing basis. Address any issues relating to role/responsibility/emoluments/career progression of any of the team member. Engage with the team to ensure that the team remains motivated and result oriented. Administrative approvals / Expenditure control Appraisal Recruitment Interviews Ensure Compliance and Regulatory controls Lead the team on all interactions with Audit and Compliance Department. Directly involved in drafting all replies and clarifications in the form of reply to Audit Reports/Special Audit/Specific clarifications to Audit and Compliance Team. Directly involved in any correspondence or interaction with Regulators and statutory bodies viz. RBI/SEBI/Courts/Tribunals/Exchanges Regular interaction with WBO team to ensure that transactions are being processed without any significant deviation from the outlined process. Redressal of Customer Complaints/Legal issues/Recoveries. Directly involved in handling any customer complaint or any matter represented to Courts/Tribunals/Local Administration/IT Authorities or statutory authorities. Directly involved in recovery of dues of significant amounts overdue for more than 30 days.
