PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Eaton is a power management company delivering a wide range of products and services to customers worldwide. Especially, its Power Quality division is a leading provider of UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) delivering reliable backup power to critical applications in IT and Industrial environments.
In order to renew its UPS portfolio, Eaton is looking for a project manager in the field of hardware engineering.
MAIN FUNCTIONS:
The Hardware project manager is responsible for the development of new UPS (Single-phase < 10kVA) following internal product development process (PRO-Launch, Waterfall based).
- Manage multi-projects of UPS and accessories development
- In the definition phase of the project :
A. Participate to the definition and achievement of project goals (Quality-Cost-Time) in its orientation phase, matching the need expressed by Marketing with the technical-industrial capacities of the division
B. Build and consolidate worldwide budgets, and perform financial analysis of the project
C. Translate the Marketing needs into technical specifications
- In the development phase of the project:
D. Ensure the achievement of project deliverables in accordance with Q-C-T goals
E. Manage the multi-business and multi-location project team (EMEA / USA / China) with members close to markets (Marketing, Service, Logistics, Quality) and technical and industrial developers
F. Coordinate the cross-functional tasks
G. Pilot the execution of the PRO-Launch process for the introduction of new products
H. Facilitate and prepare regular project reviews, including the ones to check project phases completion
I. Ensure project reporting
J. Monitor worldwide budgets and update financial analysis of the project
K. Pilot and validate the manufacturing audit
- In the stabilization phase of the product :
L. Achieve the product external quality targets
M. Manage the quality committee and monitor product change requests, until the quality rate is stabilized
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and evolution of the product development process Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: Education level required Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent (BAC +5 for French education system) Years and area of experience required 5+ years of experience in hardware engineering projects Technical knowledge - Demonstrated experience in project management disciplines and tools
- Knowledge of Waterfall (and Agile) methodologies
- Demonstrated experience in cross-functional teams coordination
- Ability to articulate technical issues at an understandable level to a variety of stakeholders and across the organization
- Excellent MS Project, Excel, Word, Visio and Power Point skills
- Good knowledge of hardware ecosystem, including industrialization and manufacturing
- Knowledge of power electronic converters appreciated Soft skills - Excellent organizational, analytical and presentation skills
- Proactive problem solving skills, decision making and conflict resolution
- Team player with good interpersonal skills
- Professional proficiency in French and English
- Good written & oral communications skills, ability to communicate across cultures and geographic regions
