The doers and thinkers, technical thought leaders, enthusiastic on Pitch-to-Production on Cloud, Developing cloud native applications, end-to-end configuration, operating proof-of-concept and overall behavioral characteristics of production applications with cloud database services that go far beyond traditional or current industry approaches. Need to specify and refine the requirements of hardware, automation, management, monitoring, protocols on Cloud Platform. Being a positive catalyst to create solutions that can be repeatedly deployed and scaled by applying unique, multidisciplinary practice to ensure the stability, scalability, performance and operational success, often by building software systems that manage these aspects. Articulate technical characteristics of services, technology areas and add premier capabilities to the Oracle Cloud service portfolio.  The role requires in depth knowledge of building and developing operational and reliability aspects of the systems, as well as strong understanding of Cloud computing, networking protocol stacks, file systems and DevOps toolset skill.
Act as ultimate escalation point for complex or critical customer issues as a customer first moves onto Oracle%26rsquo;s cloud. Utilize a deep understanding of service topology and their dependencies required to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations. Work Closely with Customer and/or Partners to bring Production workload on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
Facilitate service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning.
Preferred Qualifications/Primary Skills:
8+ years of total IT experience, predominantly hosting an application on Cloud using Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud SQL, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage.
Good understanding of cloud design considerations and limitations and it%26rsquo;s impact on Pricing.
Prior experience working with: container technology such as Docker, version control systems (Github), build management and CI/CD tools (Concourse, Jenkins), and monitoring tools (App Dynamics, etc.)
Experience with infrastructure configuration management tools such as Terraform, Puppet and Chef.
Write infrastructure as code using CloudFormation or similar.
Experience with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and the ELK stack.
Understanding of JBoss, Tomcat, Websphere, Weblogic
Networking principles and protocols such as IP subnetting, routing, firewall rules, Virtual Private Cloud, LoadBalancer, Cloud DNS, Cloud CDN, etc.
Proven deep understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and routing.
Deep understanding and experience in Software-Defined Networking (SDN)
Good understanding and experience in Cloud Security %26ndash; Encryption, Keys, WAF, handle discussions on security, WAF
Proficient in modern scripting language (preferably Shell, Perl and Python) for automation of build tasks and JSON.
Proficient in Java, with good knowledge of its ecosystems
Skill for writing reusable Java libraries
Good concepts of MVC, JDBC, and RESTful
Familiarity with Java GUI frameworks (such as Swing, SWT, and AWT depending on project requirements)
Familiarity with build tools such as Ant, Maven, and Gradle
Very strong troubleshooting skills of JAR, EAR, WAR etc
Good understanding of security best practices (e.g. using IAM Roles, KMS, etc.).
Ability to architect for high availability, fail over %26amp; disaster recovery in public or hybrid cloud environments
Database skills with good knowledge of SQL and RDBMS database design and JDBC
Understanding of continuous integration
Ability to write technical papers (white papers, competitive, technology, position papers, etc.)
Cloud Architect Associate level certification on any Cloud - Oracle/Google/AWS/Azure is a must
Education and Certification:

  • Bachelor level or higher degree in Computer Science, CIS, Informatics, Mathematics, Engineering or other relevant discipline.

  • Cloud Architect Associate certification on any Public Cloud Platform (OCI/AWS/Azure/GCP) is a must


The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for:
Plan, Configure, Deploy and Operate a cloud solution
Configure access and security
Ensure Performance standards by configuring Auto-Scaling Solution to meet varying Load requirements
Automating the build and configuration of IaaS based solutions in Oracle Cloud Platform
Deliver Proof of Concepts for new Solutions on Cloud
Good written/Oral Communication, Presentation, Interactive skills with team across geography.
Flexible to work either independently or work in tandem with our engineering team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the company
Adaptability to Learn and use groundbreaking technologies
Collaborate with Customers and internal stakeholders to collect, understand and solve problems

  • Regular work timings are adjusted to 2p-11pm IST to cover North American customers.


Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Partners with customers, sales, engineering and product teams to design, demonstrate and deploy Oracle Cloud architectures that address customer business problems. Drives Oracle Cloud customer consumption by accelerating the adoption of Oracle cloud services including discovery, design and deployment.
Engages with strategic customers, builds leadership relationships at multiple levels within organizations in order to design and implement solutions. Works directly with customers to gather requirements, develop architectures and translates business needs into solutions. May implement solutions and ensure successful deployments through code development and scripting. Displays product/application understanding through highly customized presentation demonstrations to customers, and at conferences, and events. Supports customer from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment of services via resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training. Creates and distributes technical assets (white papers, solution code, blog posts, and video demonstrations). Serves as a leading contributor for customers and sales on technical cloud solutions and customer success. Identifies gaps and enhancements to influence engineering roadmaps for customer driven features. Leading contributor, may provide direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. May interact with C level. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies.
Minimum qualifications include: 8 years experience with computer applications and tools required. Ability to travel 50% international and domestic. Preferred but not required qualifications include: Bachelor of Science-level university degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering from accredited university; and/or relevant 8 years technical experience. Advanced degree in relevant field of studies highly desirable. Expertise in and an in depth and thorough knowledge of competitive and industry knowledge in the field of computer applications and tools; System and application design; Implementation of advanced product features; Project management; Solving technical problems with customers in technical environments; Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; Needs analysis, positioning, and business justification. 8 years experience and expertise in the clear communication of technical information to others through presentations, demonstrations, written communication and consultative solutioning experience.
