Eaton is looking for a Lab Technician for the Power Electronics (PE) Center of Excellence (CoE) based in Raleigh NC.
Position Overview:
In this role, you will be responsible for lab safety, lab organization, building and testing prototype devices. A good blend of technical knowledge and teamwork is needed to be successful in this position.

In this role you will:
  • Assemble safety/thermal enclosures and benchtop safety covers
  • Fabricate cable harnesses and connectors based on voltage and current ratings
  • Manage and maintain lab equipment, instrument, and tools (e.g., hand and power tools)
  • Oversee lab equipment calibration
  • Build and test prototype devices
  • Construct, test, and repair prototype devices under test, including cables and connectors
  • Troubleshoot prototype devices using documentation and inputs from design engineers

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with reading mechanical drawings
  • Familiar with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies and other standard lab equipment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with electrical components purchase from key vendors
  • Experience with PCB layout design.
  • Experience and knowledge of high voltage safety (e.g., safety procedures/practices, PPE, etc.)
  • Experience and knowledge of machine shop (e.g., safety procedures/practices, etc.)
  • Experience building and testing high-voltage and high-power electronics test fixtures a plus
