Candidates must have English test: ILETS
RN(Registered Nurses)
Required a nursing program that is 4 years degree in Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
OR
RPN(Registered Practical Nurses)
Must have a 2 year Diploma in Practical Nursing diploma.
The nursing school must verify and send official student transcripts that show successful completion of a nursing program.
Transcripts must include the hours of theory and clinical practice competed in each subject area. The application package will include verification of course completion and transcript request (B-3) form which must be sent to the nursing school to request your transcript.

Theory component
Must include Natural and social sciences, Communication, Nursing across the lifespan, Physical/health assessment, Problem solving, Research, Legal/ethical/social/political issues, Health promotion and illness prevention
and leadership

Clinical Component
Must include the provision of nursing care for individuals across the life span in acute care. Chronic/long term care and community care practice settings. RN nursing program content must include at least 33 percent nursing theory and at least 50 percent clinical practice.

Practical Experience
If the nursing program did not include one of these subject areas, but candidate has practiced as a nurse in that subject area, the College may accept this practice as meeting the education requirement. If candidate did not practice in the subject area, they will need to complete a course in the subject area at an approved nursing program. If candidate has taken additional nursing courses in another program or school, the school should send this information directly to the College.

Foreign nurses apply for a temporary permit (interim licenses) for which no nursing exam is required, only credentialing verification (licensure, education and work experience) as well as a passing score on the English language exams.
English tests are usually required and should be taken in advance to save time.

Temporary Registration
• Foreign Nurse applies for temporary permit
• Temporary Class Registration is a short-term measure enabling members of either category (RN or RPN) to practice until they register in the General Class. Individuals must meet all the requirements for registration except the successful completion of the national examination.
• Temporary Registration is limited to six months
• Members permitted to perform procedures within the three controlled acts authorized to nursing if they are ordered by an authorized health care professional.
• International Applicants and Applicants from Other Provinces must have already submitted their application for registration in the general class.
• Other requirements: Program equivalency, passing score on the English language exam, evidence of registration in former jurisdiction and evidence of safe nursing practice within one year immediately preceding the date of application for registration).
• Must not have failed the national registration examination in the category of application.
