Do you consider yourself one of the premier Operational Network Engineers in the industry today Would you like the opportunity to become even better and face unparalleled, yet fascinating challenges The Enterprise Network Engineering team at Amazon is looking for a highly experienced Network Engineer to support our employee installations around the globe. This position will collaborate with a team of like-minded engineers located in different regions around the world to support connectivity options for our Corporate, Customer Service, and Subsidiary locations.
Responsibilities Include:
· Operational support cutting-edge, multi-vendor data connectivity solutions to support Amazon's growth worldwide.
· Monitor and maintain performance & capacity at Amazon's office installations to ensure maximum efficiency and operational uptime.
· Work with vendors and cross-functional teams for on-going design efforts and systems support.
· Support & build wireless solutions for a variety of Amazon locations.
· Support & build ISP facilitated connectivity for all Amazon Corporate offices and Customer Service locations.
· Manage severity 1 and severity 2 tickets while attending to on-call rotations during business hours and weekend.
This position requires a broad engineering background as you will be working with a variety of systems and technologies to deliver best of breed network service to Amazon's internal customers worldwide. Other qualifications include the following:
· Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or relevant work experience 3+ years of Network Engineer experience
· In-depth knowledge of and experience with major internet routing protocols BGP, OSPF, etc
· In-depth knowledge of and experience with major router platforms specifically with Cisco 37xx, 39xx, 45xx, 49xx, 94xx, ASR, & Nexus devices including all compatible supervisory and line cards for these platforms
· Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills
· Professional written and verbal communication skills
· Good interpersonal and customer service skills
· Excellent IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience in TCP (internals and flow control), UDP, DNS & DHCP
· Experience with protocols and technologies such as STP, PVST, First Hop Redundancy Protocols, EtherChannel, QoS , NTP , 802.1x & NetFlow.
· Candidates should also possess past experience with IPSec / Remote Access VPN technologies , Firewalls (ASA) , Wireless (802.11x) & IT security best practices
· Experience with network tools, specifically for these functional areas: fault management, configuration management, performance management
· Knowledge of IT security best practices
· Experience Automation Tools and scripting - Ansible or Python
· Intimate knowledge of local region connectivity providers & regulations
· Prior experience with SIP/VoIP a plus
· CCNA/CCNP certification is a plus
· Experience in lab-testing & certification of networking devices
· Experience working with carriers to provision, install, and operate data networks
· Experience managing complex technical project
