What can you expect:
The purpose of this position is to ensure timely, high-quality database support by executing production database-related tasks including requests to store data for a client, fix data errors, manage disk space or storage, monitors database performance, develops scripts and provides outstanding technical support to the internal end-user community. This role helps to set the strategic direction for the database platforms.

Planning and executing on strategic database activities including on more complex issues:
  • Support in Installation, configuration and upgrading MySQL software and products as per guidelines given.
  • Creating and sizing database storage structures and database objects
  • Planning for and actual backup and recovery of database information.
  • Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases.
  • Prepare documentations and specifications.

We will count on you to:
Daily operations responsibilities include handling and serving as the team member on the following items/activities:
  • Work on Change Orders as implementation plan.
  • Experience in backup and recovery procedures.
  • Experience in Master and slave replication setup.
  • Experience in MySQL db upgrade.
  • Experienced in integrating with AD for user management
  • Experience with using MySQL Dump and Enterprise Backup
  • Experience in managing MySQL on cloud (PAAS/IASS).
  • Experience in Managing MySQL via DOCKER.
  • Health checkup of MySQL database.
  • Understanding of MySQL's underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB and MyISAM Experience in managing MySQL Enterprise.
  • Experience with replication configuration in MySQL
  • Working Experience on AWS IaaS and PaaS for MySQL..
  • Writing Cron Jobs/Shell scripting for Database Administration tasks
  • Troubleshooting database issues.
  • Experience or Knowledge of MySQL features, such as its event scheduler.
  • Experience in working through disaster recovery plans with other groups and departments.
  • Identify and resolve incidents and address user problems/concerns.
  • Able to generate reports of all processes and jobs currently running on MySQL with details like users, start and end time, CPU Usage and time, Memory usage, IO Time, locking etc.

What you need to have:
  • 3-5 years of Strong proficiency in MySQL database management.
  • Should have worked on UNIX platform.
  • Should have worked on cloud AWS EC2 (IAAS & PAAS).
  • Should have worked on managing MySQL on Container
  • Good to have Familiarity with other SQL/NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc will be added advantage.
