Purpose of the Role :

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Tax Provision, the Manager, Tax Provision will work primarily with the non- US tax provision team - reviewing and maintaining income tax accounting workpapers supported by legal entity level calculations, all the while guiding and providing technical assistance to local accounting teams on completing quarterly tax provision deliverable. The candidate will also work on forecasting and special projects. Candidate must be comfortable working directly with business units, external service providers, and senior management. Position requires strong communication, interpersonal, project management skills and acute attention to detail. Candidate will be provided an opportunity to demonstrate ability to act as a change agent by improving and building upon existing reporting, forecasting, and analytical tools. Candidate should show interest in building a career in the broader Disney Corporate Tax , Finance or FP&A functions. Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of & Requirements for the Role:
This role is part of Non-US Tax Provision within The Disney Tax Operations Group and reports to Senior Manager , Tax Provision. The key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Review and preparation of ASC740 workpapers based on reports of legal entity level tax provision calculations
  • Organize and oversee reporting process and procedures for gathering and reconciliation of data from tax provision software and SAP
  • Liaise with other corporate tax teams to ensure effective capturing and communicating of non-US tax provision results and impacts
  • Manage local accounting teams of the assigned countries to ensure that data is submitted timely
  • Support and train local accounting teams to advance their tax accounting knowledge
  • Keep abreast of local country business and tax law changes and analyze tax provision impacts
  • Review tax provis ion calculation prepared by the local accounting teams to ensure compliance with US GAAP requirements
  • Support the preparation of cause of change analysis (including effective tax rate and cash taxes) for tax forecasts
  • Document findings and results with supporting facts/assumptions and analyses, including accounting and tax research
  • Support the preparation of executive summaries for senior management
  • Must be comfortable working cross functionally and making business connections with multiple stakeholders and information suppliers
  • Strong communication and ability to explain tax accounting technical concepts to a layperson is imperative to be successful in this responsibility
Basic Conditions:
Experience & Qualifications requ ired :
To qualify for this role candidates should have:
  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Tax, Economics or Finance
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years relevant work experience with a strong understanding of U S GAAP tax accounting processes and tax compliance
  • Strong desire to broaden/build skills
  • Innovative orientation with a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong understanding of tax technical guidance
  • Strong communication skills with ability to frame communications appropriate to audience
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills: Microsoft Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrate professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude ability to work in a fast paced environment
Preferred candidates could have:
  • Advanced degree (Master's Degree in Tax, Accounting, or Finance, or JD, LLM Tax)
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Familiarity with IFRS
  • Experience in non-US jurisdiction tax compliance/provision
