Job Description

To manage the end-to-end operational process of journal publication. To delight authors and reviewers on a journal portfolio, optimising basic journal system configurations and workflows to maximise customer satisfaction. To build and maintain excellent relationships with journal editors and internal contacts. To ensure that journals operate efficiently, and to the right quality and publication speed standards.
Customer Journey Management
Understand author and reviewer journeys on journal portfolio
Monitor and understand journal trends, bottlenecks and anomalies in Researcher Support work and outsourced production work
Troubleshoot problems relating to the publication of articles
Deliver a high standard of support and customer service to Researchers to maximise their satisfaction and minimize their effort in the publication journey
Develop strong relationships with Editors, Publishers, Societies and Researchers
Workflow Optimisation
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows to drive speed and efficiency, and optimise quality
Oversee basic optimisation of journal configuration and workflows
Content Delivery
Plan issue publication schedules and ensure articles and issues are published accordingly, flexing to support Jnl Ops content growth and issue realisation targets when required
Monitor and understand journal performance in content delivery and quality
Support initiatives to drive content growth and publication speed
Engagement and Self-Development
Build good relationships with the team of Journal Managers and Journal Administrators, and the wider team environment of Suppliers, Supplier Ops, APS, Researcher Support and other regular journal contacts
Work collaboratively and conscientiously, and take a positive and constructive approach to feedback and conflict
