Corporate Risk
Wells Fargo's approach to risk management centers around three clearly defined lines of defense - the front line, independent risk management, and internal audit - to provide effective risk oversight and decision-making across the organization. Corporate Risk includes the independent risk management function - our second line of defense.Corporate Risk establishes and maintains the company's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenge and independent assessment of the front line's execution of its risk management responsibilities.
Independent risk management in Corporate Risk is responsible for independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Strategic Enterprise Risk Management (SERM) is a group directly under the Chief Risk Officer that is responsible for a variety of strategic functions within Corporate Risk that includes risk reporting, risk governance, risk programs that oversee risk measurement and risk identification, strategic and reputational risk oversight, and risk optimization and strategy.
Corporate Risk Reporting and Analytics
​​​​​​Corporate Risk Reporting and Analytics (CRRA) is responsible to create and manage a shared services approach to reporting as part of our Expectations.
The Role
The candidate will be an Enterprise Risk Officer in the CRRA - Data Management & Analytics team. This team will consist of data governance experts who will work on strategy, roadmap and establish a team in conjunction with technology and COO team focused on identifying critical data elements for reporting, defining data lineage, ensuring high data quality, validation, and testing.
.Job Description
  • Enable and support the establishment of data governance strategy and framework for reporting
  • Liaison with Technology, Data Management & Insights (DMI) and Chief Operating Office (COO) to define and document critical data elements, standardize taxonomy, and ensure strong controls around calculated metrics
  • Align with DMI and COO on defining data lineage to understand the movement and transformation of data from system to system and source to system mapping.
  • Ensure strong data quality, controls, and validation of all data in reports before publishing
  • Ensure data is accurate, complete, standardized, and concise and is also tested comprehensively
  • Work with data stewards identified by COO's office and enforce accountability of owning and maintaining their data.
  • Support advance analytics and data presentation

Required qualifications:
  • 10+ yrs. of experience in Reporting Data Governance Framework and Strategy, experience in data sourcing and establishing Critical Data Elements in Business/Risk Reporting domains
  • 5+ years of experience in working as Risk Reporting Data Stewards.
  • Experience working on Data Controls - Transmission & Business Rules, Reporting & Business Intelligence Tools, Access Management
  • 5+ years of experience working on Data Quality Rule Implementation & Monitoring, Issue Management, Reconciliations & Adjustments..
  • Demonstrated advanced analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy, Data Change Management, Data Defect Tracking & Reporting along with Data Procedures / Documentation - Testing & Validation and Reporting processes
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills

Market Skills and Certifications
Desired Qualifications:
  • Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Teradata and or Hadoop experience will be benefit the role.
  • 4+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk)
  • Regulatory or Risk reporting experience (Basel, BCBS 239, Federal Reserve, G&O high risk reports)
  • Experience researching and resolving data/application problems and working with technology teams on remediation of data/application issues
