Job Description

1. Define:
• Define the portfolio of current & planned Major Projects’ IT Architecture requirements in alignment to the approved IT standards
• Produce specifications of Major Projects IT cloud-based or on-premises components, tiers and interfaces for translation into services and products
• Establish IT infrastructure and systems strategy in order to deploy only approved applications and tools, agreed with the respective disciplines
• Evaluate new recommendations and update architecture mappings as appropriate (including Innovations, Exceptions, and Deviations
• Contribute to develop models and plans for the implementation of the functional requirements considering improvements to business performance; Models cover data, process, invocation, and stipulation of infrastructure capabilities to meet those models
2. Develop:
• Provide advice on enterprise architecture, including solution development methods and tools, the operational and maintenance aspects of solutions under development, and non-functional aspects of design. Assist in the development of service level agreements and any associated service guarantees. Ensure that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices (including security) are applied.
• Advise on the impact of technical exceptions (including requests for changes, deviations from specifications, etc.), and ensure that there is proper technical assessment of all exceptions. Inform project management of major technical issues and makes recommendations on their resolution.
• Advise on appropriate technical assurance criteria, and the conduct of quality reviews of technical products. Ensure the adequacy and effective use of quality control procedures in relation to enterprise architecture components.
• Contribute to formal reviews and evaluations for projects and programs including quality reviews of solution architecture components
• Participate in technical plan discussions to ensure that the design principles comply with enterprise architecture
• Produce registers and histories of authorized assets and verifies that all these assets are in a known state and location
• Verify that secure master copies of software, documentation, data, licenses and agreements for supply, warranty and maintenance are securely held within the approved system
3. Manage:
• Analyze business goals and objectives of business requirements to identify key business demands and risks that may influence strategic demand decision making from enterprise architecture perspective
• Support a change program or project through the preparation of technical plans and application of design principles that comply with enterprise and enterprise architecture standards (including security)
• Identify and evaluate alternative architectures and the trade-offs in cost, performance and scalability
• Review current and proposed information systems and processes, provides technical input for optimization and standardization to ensure that they are compliant with the organization’s obligations (including legislation, regulatory and agreed standards/ policies)
• Maintain the Major Projects IT architecture, infrastructure & functional areas, using organization IT approved standards, tools and methods
• Engage with experts and stakeholders through all stages of contract lifecycle, to ensure compliance to architecture requirements are met
• Monitor Major Projects IT Architecture needs and developments including integration into organization IT landscape and updating the architecture mapping as appropriate
• Report architecture non-compliances and provides specialist advice to those accountable for governance to correct compliance issues
4. Improve:
• Maintain an awareness of current and emerging information and communications technologies and identify possible opportunities for the business to be positively impacted by adopting such
• Provide future predictions on costs incorporating timely software upgrades, hardware refresh, component replacement as well as modernization of software
• Develop the trend watch on IT Architecture needs and developments including integration into organization IT landscape
• Support both reactively and pro-actively in IT services and products budgetary and financial planning, contracts litigation & legislation
• Identification of solutions where the costs may exceed planned budget and ensuring that all IT solution financial targets can be met
• Collect contract performance data (such as pricing and supply chain costs), and monitors performance against KPIs that govern the solution total cost of ownership
