SUMMARY OF ROLE
Engineering the technical scope of analyzer systems, including desiging, specifying, planning, coordinating, and directing engineering tasks as required to meet functional, scheduling, commercial requirements, divisional service level and financial objectives of customer orders, serving as technical resource and leader for other functional engineers.
Factor I: Accountability
  • Designs detailed technical solutions for specific customer applications, including sample handling sytems, support structures, power distribution, signal distribution, gas distribution, and interconnecting devices
  • Delivers technically complete designs on time, meeting Emerson quality standards
  • Distills complete customer specifications into well documented, functional technical scope statements
  • Proficiently creates eletronic drafting (AutoCAD) files of P&ID drawings, structural arragement drawings, electrical diagrams, fabrication drawings, etc., as required per project
  • Specifies all purchased and fabricated components required to build solutions, including analyzers, submitting bid specifications, releasing components for order, working closely with vendors and procurement teams
  • Produces project technical variations in a timely manner, addressing required changes in technical scope
  • Provides effective technical guidance and team leadership for all engineering disciplines, including expediting, to meet documentation deliverable due dates
  • Pertinent understanding of petro-chemical customer applications and processes (e.g. refining , ethylene, LNG)
  • Concisely articulates technical details to both customers and project team as required
  • Effectively interfaces with customers and suppliers for all things technical, including customer drawing comments and feedback
  • Cooridnates and communcates technical data and its implications with all team members as required
  • Directs and oversees the activities of drafting resources and othe engineers as required
  • Works closely with document control to direct and support project technical documentation and certification requirements for all customer, vendor, agency, and fabricator document needs, including creating the document list
  • Advises and supports the fabrication team, insuring construction meets all project requirements
  • Performs or coordinates factory internal checkouts and customer FAT (factory acceptance test)
  • Supports and assists service teams with life cycle activities as required

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree (Chemical engineering , Process Engineering, Instrumention Engineering ,) or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field of Piping, Oil and Gas, Process Industry.
  • Sound technical understanding of process engineering and instrumentation
  • Knowledge of applications in petrochemical, refining, LNG industries
  • English languale skills - verbal and written
  • Practical experience with analytical systems is an advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Good drawing skills in AutoCAD / MicroStation
  • Decisive, drive and ability to deliver effective and innovative solutions
