General Overview
This position supports the Information Technology Delivery team, responsible for developing and support the applications at Rotary International. You will have the opportunity to work on diversified applications developed for Rotary International in niche technologies. Your contribution will serve assisting Rotary members through its Software for expanding our reach and enhancing participant engagement.
You Will Have
  • BE / MCA / M.Sc. (Computer Science) / BSC IT / Graduate or Post Graduate Science or Engineering (or equivalent experience) field with 8+ yrs. of relevant experience
  • Experience designing and compiling application development plans for new or existing applications.
  • Experience collaborating with cross functional teams to determine business-specific application needs.
  • The ability to lead the application development team and to supervise the design, testing, and modification stages.
  • 8+ years development experience with .NET Framework, including the development of RESTful web services and development with a major RDBMS like MS SQL Server
  • Experience designing and developing applications for Cloud infrastructures such as Microsoft Azure
  • Understanding of microservices development and design patterns
  • Experience in unit testing design and approaches
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge and Skills
  • .NET Framework, .NET Standard 2.0+, Visual Studio 2012+, Asp.NET Core, C#, SQL Server, Azure or other Cloud Platform, Azure Search Services, Elasticsearch or similar search engine technology is a plus

  • Development experience with other ORMs
  • Experience using container virtualization like Docker
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous delivery
  • Development experience in ASP.NET Core

  • Has in-depth knowledge in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines

  • Develop suitable and feasible approach for upgrading or migrating applications/ software/ tools for business benefits

Technical and Professional Expertise -
  • Design of REST Web Services solutions for various lines of business
  • Expert in C# and .NET technologies and frameworks
  • Proficient in SQL and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Development and support of a cloud applications in Azure
  • Proficient in distributed version control tools, particularly git, BitBucket, or GitHub
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues independently
  • Experience with remote debugging and log analysis
  • Create and implement short and long-term strategy with respect to technological platform
  • Solve complex problems take a new perspective on existing solutions
  • Be an expert in own area within the organization and has specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own discipline or function
  • Be able to create a POC (Proof of Concept) for technical requirements in his/ her own technical area
  • Build, Implement and maintain coding standards related to technology
  • Support critical production/ pre-production issues
  • Lead the implementation and support of technological solutions
  • Identify application performance issues, account it in technical debt and guide the resolution the issues identified
  • Develop system documentation, such as data models and software architecture and guide the team for implementing it
  • Creating and deriving new technical development processes
  • Guide team in implementing feasible unit testing frameworks, different automated deployment tools, as necessary

Teamwork and Leadership -
  • Help in functional testing across the teams to achieve team goal
  • Help other teams in performance tuning of in-house and customer facing applications as and when needed
  • Provide guidance on technical solution to team members
  • Give technical feedback to team leads and technical leads as and when required
  • Drive meetings, presentations and demos in effective manner to bring them up to a conclusion
  • Assist in recruiting/ on-boarding of new hires

Initiative -
  • Decide approach or design a system for enhancements and provide required guidance to team during development
  • Lead and actively participate in technical meetings providing suggestions/solutions/approach on topics discussed
  • Explore new technological concepts/tools and determine if they fit or enhance existing applications or processes
  • Maintain technical knowledgebase in own area within the organization
  • Participate in creating new products and services where technology is concerned

Supervisory Responsibility -
  • Guide the team in functional and technical areas on various work products
  • Prepare constructive performance improvement plan from technical aspects for team members with team lead(s) and management

Budget Responsibility -
  • Provide inputs of technical trainings, conferences, software purchase, hardware require to senior management
