Location: New Delhi
The Team:
The Analytics team is central to Chegg - we use data and analyses to support every business line and the marketing and product organizations. We are a team composed of analysts, data scientists, economists, mathematicians, statisticians, and engineers. Our group is part of the larger data organization at Chegg that focuses on enabling data and insights at scale. We use a world-class set of instrumentation, analysis, and data science technologies to transform our data into insights and then into knowledge. While the analytics group is centralized, we heavily partner with our stakeholders to ensure insights delivered are directly usable for decision making and ultimately adds value to Chegg. The role:Data Scientist-II
We are looking for a highly motivated and a self-starter Business Analyst to help understand and build predictability around business performance and support scoping, launch and measuring impact of product initiatives. This person should be able to provide meaningful insights into business performance
The incumbent will work closely with analysts and business community on a day-to-day basis. We are looking for someone with exceptional data mining, analytical and visualization skills, and excellent communication skills along with the ability to work in an on/offshore model. The candidate should have an eye for detail and be able to own creation and maintenance of ETL workflows that feed into key dashboards while being able to derive key actionable insights
Responsibilities:

  • Owning a full suite of Marketing data projects and products from data pipelines to our marketing platforms, BI/reporting, Insight generation and story boarding for stakeholders

  • Working with marketing managers, data engineers and product owners to maintain and improve measurement capabilities.

  • Developing experimentation frameworks to allow us to improve the targeting of our marketing through segmentation and assessing incremental impact of campaigns through AB Testing.

  • Working with our teams to understand the impact and improve the targeting of our marketing activities for both acquisition and retention (incl. product upselling initiatives).

  • Build thoughtful and detailed analytical models to support business cases

Requirements:

  • Bachelors/Masters Degree in Business/Marketing/IT/Statistics, specializing in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, or related fields.

  • 3+ years of previous experience in Analytics, Business Intelligence and in an enterprise, data-driven environment

  • Have working knowledge on concepts of statistics with ability to define hypothesis and run statistical significance testing

  • Experience in analytics around Marketing/Digital marketing and knowledge of various marketing channels like Organic, Paid, CRM will be an added plus.Problem solving and critical thinking, logical and analytical ability, and data visualization capability.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills enabling the jobholder to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Self-starter organized and have experience working in an agile environment.

  • Accuracy and attention to details.

  • Must be comfortable taking initiative and proactively offering product recommendations and enhancements through analysis of various data sources.

Analytical toolset:

  • Advanced SQL and data manipulation skills

  • Data wrangling experience with Python/R

  • Experience with applying statistical analysis to solve business problems with one of the following - Hypothesis and significance testing, Regression Analysis, Clustering and Time Series Forecasting

  • Advanced Excel knowledge

  • Good experience with one or more databases like Redshift, Postgres, Oracle, Teradata, MySQL etc.

  • Excellent data visualization skills using Tableau/Domo or other data visualization tools.
