Your key responsibilities
  • Define and govern divisional data modelling and design strategy, partner with data SMEs, data governance staff, architects, and product owners to ensure data governance model meets business needs and conforms to group governance best practices.
  • Develop standard methodology and processes for modeling various data artifacts fit to development standards and architecture, define principles, tools and best practices.
  • Partner with business, data owners, SMEs, and partners to implement build data flows, conceptual/logical/physical data models and translating business needs into long-term solution data models.
  • Ensure the consistency, availability, understanding and performance through application of strategies and design principles for data modeling across all data platforms (relational, dimensional, and NoSQL) and data tools (reporting, visualization, analytics, and reporting).
  • Evaluate existing data systems, identify the architecture, infrastructure, and interfaces to data sources, tools supporting automated data loads, security concerns, analytic models, and data visualization, find variances, discrepancies, and efficiency potentials.
  • Drive the creation of consistent data structures across all platforms.
  • Generate, maintain, and communicate any deliverables pertaining to the modelling, design, configuration, installation, performance tuning, sandbox POC, and model release details and performing data model reviews.

Your skills and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3+ years experience with Data Warehouse modelling techniques such as Inmon, Kimball and Data Vault 2.0 and Dimensional (Star/Snowflake) and in creating Conceptual/Logical/Physical Data Models Certifications are a plus.
  • Software Development experience with SAS and preferably Python or Spark/PySpark is required
  • Superb interpersonal skills and a demonstrable ability to collaborate with business as well as technical leaders, track record of being a consensus builder who works toward solution
  • Experience working in an agile team structure, specifically revolving around data teams
