Role Responsibilities

This Business Analyst role is a junior-level position in the Technology & Innovation (T&I) team within the Corporate Commercial Institutional Banking (CCIB) Data Technology department. He/She will be responsible for supporting product analysis and implementation of cloud technology projects by facilitating effective information exchange between business users and technologists. The key success metrics of the role are continuous improvement of business outcome, clarity of business processes and active contribution to software lifecycle deliveries.
Key Responsibilities

  • Elicit and understand business requirements from business teams and Product Owner to create effective user stories in JIRA

  • Evaluate non-functional requirements such as performance and resiliency

  • Create product/application requirement documents on Confluence

  • Perform astute and detail-oriented analysis to define core problems and develop innovative solution designs of software product features

  • Ensure project objectives, scope, requirements and design are in alignment

  • Work closely with the Development Team to discuss user stories and articulate business value

  • Actively involved in product support and implementation tasks, including user testing, product data configuration, product optimization and go-live support

  • Think in a systems way by tracing and evaluating risks, impacts and dependencies of a particular change on other components of the system or plan

  • Propose risk migration options to ensure risks are addressed or escalated appropriately

  • Participate in defect triage process periodically

  • Convey and receive both functional and technical information from different stakeholders

Key Stakeholders

  • Product Owner, Delivery Lead, Solution Architect, Business Stakeholders, Developers and Technology Partners




Work Experience

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Management Consultant, preferably in a software development or technology delivery team

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) particularly Excel for data analysis

  • Experience with all phases of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Experience in Financial/Banking Technology or Corporate Banking

  • Knowledge of externa/market data (such as Company Fundamentals, ESG) is preferred

  • Knowledge in Cloud (AWS/Azure/Google), API and microservices is preferred
