The Management Reporting Group is responsible to drive the Novartis Group’s management reporting strategy in close alignment with Group ERP, ensuring delivery of best in class solutions to Novartis Management, allowing efficient analyses of the business performance and delivering on the Novartis Group objectives of Innovation, Growth, and Productivity.
This job requires a combination of reasonable accounting background, in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), and expert reporting system understanding. The role of the Assistant Manager will be to support of already developed applications that FRA Ops (CTS/Group) has designed, built, and is maintaining (e.g. EDW / GDWH, BI/BW, Qlik, SAC, Synergy Tracking Tool). S/He will also have the responsibility to deliver the required customer support. S/He should enable the organization to manage financial and reporting deadlines and drive productivity via reporting and planning excellence, supporting users to throughout the organization when required.
Your responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the management reporting systems (primarily on Travel and Expenses), in a timely and accurate manner, meeting all business timelines and information/analytic needs.
• Perform operational activities on all supported tools, spanning across multiple locations. Cooperate with CTS IT resource allocation to maintain and develop tools and systems
• Ensure continuous system availability across all time zones through process optimization and excellent teamwork. Support internal customers to effectively analyze business performance recommend areas for improvement
• Operationalize robust standard processes supported by tools and systems, reflecting best practices, supported by a control framework. Ensure high level of solution usability while meeting business requirements
• Support FRA Ops (CTS/Group) in providing timely reports to monitor Operational stability, internal controls and compliance (eg: NFCM Controls, process performance KPIs, Financial Controls and Compliance reviews, etc.)
• Provide ad-hoc BPA support and identify opportunities to optimize T&E spend, improve compliance and influence traveler behavior all the way from expense booking until expense reimbursement. Deliver the Training program on FRA Ops Management Reporting systems
• Perform detailed financial statements review when required (i.e. ratio and trend analysis, valuation, impairment testing) to monitor key risks and follow up on action item and provide support in defining a solid access management framework and drive self-service in reporting & analytics with the relevant customer group by working very closely with the T&E Business Data Analyst across other regions.
Minimum Requirements:
Education :
• CA/MBA (Finance) or Equivalent/University Degree ideally in accounting, finance, or economics
Experience:
• Fluent in spoken and written English. Minimum of 6-9 years working experience with MBA (Finance) or Equivalent/University Degree OR minimum of 4-7 years post qualification working experience for CA, in Data Analytics and reporting, financial reporting and analysis or financial planning and analysis roles in a multinational organization
• Experience in SAP BI/BW and Qliksense is must. Must have good experience in BI/BW queries –should be able to Read, write and modify.
• Must have expert knowledge of Data mining and Data Analytics techniques. Experience / Exposure to Travel Management and Expense Management is preferred
• Excellent analytical ability with experience of handling large volume of data and creating meaning analysis out of it. Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience in advance excel and MS-Office applications is must. Experience of working in multicultural / international environment
