The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas
  • Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services from inception and design, through deployment, operation, capacity planning and launch reviews.
  • Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users
  • Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement
  • Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality
  • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity includes automation for other various operational needs.
  • Troubleshooting infrastructure issues, reviewing log files, updating documentation, and having knowledge base with resolutions
  • Work closely with the application Development team to understand the platform and create tools/utilities to help with production management
  • Working with upstream data providers and upstream consumers, and reducing the amount of escalation to development teams
  • Develop scripts and assist with code changes along with operational tasks/activities.
  • Identify risks, responsive, and works with a sense of urgency plus works within a team or independently
  • Work closely with Application Development to ensure that the support team has excellent knowledge of the application set, own and maintain support knowledgebase and documents
  • Use of analytical skills to find trends in the environment and drive out problems.
  • Lead effort to determine improvement areas to stabilize the plant.
  • Understand the overall business flow of supported application systems and its interface with clients
  • Taking ownership and managing production requests, questions, issues and perform Root Cause Analysis for outages/incidents

  • Be flexible to provide weekend on call rotation and available for offshore time lead
  • Within the Application Support space, to be accountable for the Production Environments as well as the non-Production Environments for the existing GBT team and be part of 24/7 production support coverage.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Technical requirement:
Strong experience in scripting language (Shell scripting, Python, Perl, etc., ) and cloud driven development and ability to automate manual tasks Experienced in scripting languages such as Groovy, Powershell, Bash and Shell scriptExperience using Docker and Kubernetes to realize large-scale software distributionSkilled in concepts such as REST/SOAP api and application interface programming.Knowledgeable on DSL specifications such as yml, json and xmlStrong knowledge on application build tools such as Maven, Gradle and MSBuild.Strong knowledge on source code repository (GIT/Bit bucket/SVN and ClearCase) including branching and merging strategiesGood understanding on Platform build tools such as Ansible/TerraformMaintaining and enhancing the automated continuous integration and continuous delivery environment using TeamCity, Jenkins and Sonarqube.Work closely with Dev team to analyze, review and clarify design and architecture on Tools implementation, Build and Deploy automationDocument as-is state of environment, gap analysis, come up with options, recommendationsPOC of Tools, Techniques as desired, Evaluating and adopting new tools to improve build and release processesAbility to perform Root cause analysis and document - Incident and Problem management Interest in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
Qualifications:
  • 2-7 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry
  • Intermediate level experience in Applications Development role
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements


Education:
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
