Role & Job Description:
This role will be part of our Application Support team, and as an Applications Support Intermediate Programmer Analyst, fulfill responsibilities inclusive of, and not limited to below
  • Serve as Level 3 Production Support Lead for a set of applications in the Cards & Payments Team across all Asia and EMEA markets.
  • Perform and manage all Production Support activities including end-to-end resolution of incidents, Batch Management, User Query Management, etc.
  • Monitor and control all phases of Production Support lifecycle starting from pre-implementation readiness review, post implementation monitoring, Incident resolutions, Dashboard and Metrics preparation.
  • Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of all cards applications to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement
  • Define operating standards and processes, SLAs for Production Incidents raised by users as well generated by system.
  • Review all the Batch operational readiness and resolve all the outstanding issues on time.
  • Attend the major incidents and get them fixed as early as possible. Follow up with detailed root cause analysis and preventive actions.
  • Prepare and publish executive summary of Production Incidents to seniors, Head of Departments on a regular basis.
  • Manage a vendor team of Production Support analysts.
  • Work effectively with remote teams, with a focus on building positive working relationships
  • Acts as partner and work with Product Development, Product Solution team to ensure minimal disruptions to Production systems from the new release implementations.

Job Qualifications:
  • Graduate/Post Graduate degree in engineering or computer science streams
  • About 10 years of hands on experience in application development and support
  • Demonstrable analytical and quantitative skills
  • Good Interpersonal and communication skills, with high attention to minute details

Core Technical competencies:
  • Past roles in a technical capacity with demonstrable experience in the Production Support of Banking Sytems.
  • Strong process oriented professional with demonstrable record of working in an fast paced environment
  • Strong software development and support skills in in a combination of following technologies
    • Mainframe Technologies - z/OS, COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, DB2, and experience working with Credit Card processing package VisionPlus
    • Account Receivables and Financial transaction processing Domain knowledge in VisionPlus.
    • Operating systems - Unix, Linux, Windows
    • IDEs and tools - BitBucket, JIRA, Service Now, Rexx, ChangeMan, CICS abend aid, IBM RDz

Add on Competencies that would be a big advantage:
  • Experience working with mission critical applications and troubleshooting complex issues related to it
  • Working Knowledge and Experience with ServiceNow incident and change management.
  • Working Knowledge and Experience with JIRA, Confluence.
  • Engineers with a good understanding of modern distributed technologies, forward-compatible and open to continuous learning will be a big plus
  • A good understanding of the cards & payments industry fundamentals and ongoing payment industry trends.
  • Working Knowledge of enterprise architecture from the customer touch point channels to the backend.

  • Ability to work with remote teams across geographies and organization lines
  • Strong team player able to motivate team to respond to multiple demands and able to manage changing priorities and meet challenging timelines
  • Collaborative and adaptive, with good communication skills. Prior experience working in a large Agile teams using scrum methodology is desirable
  • Critical Problem management skills (especially the ability to take instant decisions during major incidents)
  • Strong interpersonal and articulation skills (spoken and written)
  • Strong team orientation and commitment to overall team success willing to go above and beyond to ensure team success intense customer focus and commitment to driving quality
  • Effective time management skills in order to manage multiple priorities with flexibility on time zones and timelines

  • Ability to remain abreast of industry technical trends and new development to maintain current skills and remain current with industry standards
