Vice President - Applications Development Tech Lead Analyst C13
The purpose of this role is to lead the Data Acquisition Platform team located in Chennai and manage the delivery of strategic initiatives within GFT. This involves working closely with the SME, prioritizing business requirements, providing effort estimates, ensuring timely delivery of committed items and managing the work slate. Additionally this role also involves Project Management of all aspects of a software development project as per the guidelines laid out by Citi program management council.
  • Manage and lead the development team and participate in various Global & Regional Initiatives and Transformation Programs.
  • Understand the Business and Functional Requirements provided by the Business Analysts and produce the Technical Design Documents and lead the development team to deliver those requirements.
  • Create Projects Plans, Manage the Workslate and maintain the project artefacts in Citi Project Tracking System workspace.
  • Work closely with Cross Functional/ Sector Teams e.g. Business Analysis, Product Assurance, Platforms and Infrastructure, Business Office and Global Production Assurance teams. Prepare handover documents and manage SIT, UAT and Implementation.
  • Identify and proactively resolve issues that could affect the system performance, reliability, and usability.
  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of how the development function integrates within the overall business/technology to achieve objectives requires a good understanding and hands on experience preferably in Finance IT.
  • Work proactively & independently to address the development requirements and articulate issues/challenges with enough lead time to address the risks.
  • Ability to understand complex data problems, analyse and provide generic solutions compatible with the existing Infrastructure.
  • Design, Implement, Integrate and test new features on Legacy platforms.
  • Mentor other developers with their implementation as and when required, and participate in review activities including design review, code review and technical document review etc. to ensure smooth and successful delivery of the committed work.
  • Explore existing Application architecture determine areas of complexity and potential risks to successful implementation.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of the Application by suggesting improvements to the software architecture, software development process, adoption of new technologies and replacement/upgrades of aging software components.
  • Ability to build relationship with business and Tech stakeholders.

  • Bachelor/ Master's degree in Computer Sciences /Engineering or related discipline.
  • Certification in areas of Business Analysis (CBAP or equivalent)/Scrum Master (CSM) would be an advantage.

Critical Competencies:
  • 12+ year's experience in Software Development of which at least 5+ years of experience in top tier banks / Finance IT industry is necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of ETL methodology and experience in Ab >Initio tool kit (GDE, Control Centre, EME) / Other ETL tools is necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of working with data - data warehousing, data analysis, database design, data profiling, query optimization.
  • Ability to write SQL queries required to investigate data issues and analyse legacy data.
  • Knowledge of UNIX required to investigate data issues and analyse legacy data.
  • Good understanding of Finance data flows and Finance applications within a large bank / Financial Institution.
  • Excellent communication and internal customer management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
