Applications Operations Engineer will be responsible for tens of thousands of GE Employees globally. We are looking for smart, energetic, and friendly technologists with experience in Application Support to help our developers and software engineers use our tools ecosystem effectively and deliver the cutting edge applications on time. Roles and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Strive to provide excellent customer service to employees from GE Businesses
Work hand in hand with operations in identifying & resolving issues directly with end users and vendors
Manage and administer 15+ mission critical applications that caters to more than 65,000 GE users from all GE Businesses globally
Management of team support ticket queue and SLA tracking
Onboarding new teams and new projects
Work with customers to grow, support, and enhance our tools ecosystem
Help Software Development Teams understand the tools ecosystem and utilize these productivity tools effectively in their development environment
Must be open to occasional travel and/or work a flexible schedule including participating in a 24x7 on-call rotation
Become an expert on product service within GE and accountable for identifying opportunities to improve overall user experience
Be aware of system-wide changes and application deployments that might impact application availability for users
Effectively manage escalations to resolution
Partner with product teams to plan and test automation solutions
Engage with the vendor to trouble shoot and resolve an issue within the product
Support quality initiatives for continuous service improvement & optimization
Support end user issues by providing the effective solutions
Drive a higher level of customer satisfaction by improving support team quality, knowledge, and training
Partner with other regional teams and services owners to share and promote best practices and lessons learned
Education Qualification
For roles outside USA:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or 'STEM' Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with basic experience.
For roles in USA:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or 'STEM' Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with minimum years of experience2years
Desired Characteristics
Technical Expertise:
Working knowledge of Linux and Windows
Knowledge of software development lifecycle or agile product development
Understanding of Cloud and Infrastructure concepts
Overall 6 years IT experience in build and release management
Experience with agile/iterative project methodology & tools
Prior experience working with common developer tools (Jira, Jenkins, GitHub, Confluence, Artifactory, Nexus, DTR, Coverity, etc)
Ability to analyze and monitor application / server logs
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Able to communicate at all levels of expertise in a positive, and helpful way
Strong collaboration and customer service skills
Strong analytical and problem resolution skills
Must be willing to work out of an office located in Bangalore, India
Must be willing to travel
Business Acumen:
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong business analysis and problem solving skills
Proactively engages with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and design solutions using critical thinking and analytical skills and best practices
Ability to interact at all levels of the organization and with other GE businesses
