Job summary
The Global Benefits Communications team ensures all Amazon employees have the information they need to understand Amazon benefits and make informed choices to improve their well-being. To deliver on this mission, we're seeking a curious and self-motivated communications manager to join our team.

As an APAC Communications Manager for Amazon Benefits, you will own project management, development, production, publishing, and distribution of digital and print communications across owned internal channels for an assigned set of APAC countries. You will also have an opportunity to build new messaging strategies and programs aimed at improving awareness and engagement rates among a distributed and mobile workforce. This role has a direct impact on the employee experience and is critical to ensuring our corporate and operations employees have the information they need, when they need it, to take advantage of their benefits.

This role requires an excellent writer and editor with the ability to dive deep into complex benefits programs in order to translate complex concepts into clear, concise user-friendly content and communications for our employees. You will have experience writing and producing various types of communications across a variety of channels. You are self-motivated, proactive, and resourceful in finding detours around obstacles. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is effective at juggling multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a sharp attention to detail and high standards. You work collaboratively, are eager to learn about our business, and willing to roll up your sleeves and get work done.

Key job responsibilities
  • Manage the benefit communications and editorial calendar for the countries assigned to you.
  • Write compelling and effective copy that resonates with diverse audiences across a variety of marketing channels.
  • Demonstrate strong copyediting skills, including rewriting, optimizing, and editing messaging and content developed by other stakeholders.
  • Ensure all content is factually accurate, grammatically correct, and adheres to our internal communication tenets and tone of voice.
  • Coordinate across internal partners and channels to embed benefits messaging into a variety of channels, ensuring consistency across all employee touchpoints.
  • Own pre-production and publishing of communications and materials using internal and external communication tools according to business need and established editorial calendar.
  • Work with in-country stakeholders (benefits consultants, benefits operations, DEI teams, etc) to understand local nuances and adapt global or regional content for a local audience.
  • Partner with stakeholders to build efficient processes and a templated approach to content production for scalability.
  • Provide ad hoc support for communications projects on the team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years of marketing experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements
  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data

  • 5+ years professional experience in a writing or editing role where grammatical and material accuracy was essential.
  • Experience in an internal communications role.
  • Superior English verbal and written communication skills with experience in email, social media, or digital marketing publishing and production.
  • A portfolio that represents a range of content that you have written or edited, and shows your talent for connecting with readers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience writing for a diverse, remote, and mobile workforce.
  • Unwavering attention to detail with an acute awareness that everything counts.
  • Adept at planning and prioritizing work to meet tight deadlines.
  • A self-starter who is eager to learn new concepts and dive into unknown territory.
  • A fast learner who is receptive to feedback and input from others, and quick to apply changes. - Resourceful in finding detours around obstacles and resilient in recovering from setbacks.
  • A flexible individual who is willing to roll up their sleeves and get work done.
  • Experience with one or more of the following is a plus but not required: 1) developing and editing basic HTML templates, 2) Tableau, QuickSight, or similar data visualization tool, 3) Adobe design programs including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, 4) email marketing platforms (Pardot, Marketo, etc).
  • Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role.
  • Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role.
