The Role Responsibilities

Data Engineer will be part of Trade Data team, responsible in delivering scalable, complex data pipelines with various Digital technologies available in the Bank. He/she should be a key Team player and able to handle the tasks independently with minimal support. Good Knowledge on the banking and Trade sector area
Software Delivery

  • Must have experience in designing, developing, and deploying big data projects into production

  • Implemented complex projects dealing with the considerable data (TB/ PB) and with high complexity in the production environment.

  • Able to lead design discussions and participate actively in design/code review sessions.

  • Manage multiple tasks and use sound judgment when prioritizing.

  • Analyse existing software implementations to identify areas of improvement and provide deadline estimates for implementing new features.

  • Flair for coding and learning new domain is desirable.

  • Establish trusted partnerships with peers, product heads, and executive level stakeholders

  • Must be passionate about technology and engineering.

  • Apply appropriate development methodologies (e.g.: agile, waterfall) and best practices (e.g.: mid-development client reviews, embedded QA procedures, unit testing) to ensure successful and timely completion.

  • Exceptional analytical skills and ability to apply knowledge and experience in decision-making to arrive at creative and commercial solutions

  • Ability to leverage technology to deliver business value

  • Must be independent and comfortable in a fast paced, ambiguous and often multi-directional work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS
Field of Study

  • (Maths/Statistics/Quantitative/Business or other relevant degree) or equivalent business experience. Strong knowledge of IT principles and system development lifecycle. Sound statistical knowledge, analytical and problem-solving skills are desirable.


Certification

  • Bachelor /Masters Degree


Advanced Proficiency in:

  • Responsible for creating data pipelines leveraging the Bigdata Technologies.

  • Min 5-9 years in working in teams and as an individual contributor as well in Big Data Technologies such as Hadoop, Spark- scala, pySpark, Dataiku, Hive, HDFS, Sqoop, HBase and Ni-Fi is a must.

  • 3+ years with strong Proficiency and understanding in any of the programming language: Scala, Python, or Java is a must.

  • Good to have Hands-on expertise on the Dataiku or similar ETL tool in creating and productionising projects, recipes scenarios etc.,

  • Sound knowledge of shell script is a must.

  • Working knowledge on the Scheduling tool CTRL-M for the batch jobs to run.

  • Understanding technical concepts and components of API and good to have the knowledge on Spring Boot and Spring Scheduler on Java 8.

  • Exposure to work on the graphql and API components.

  • Experience with source control and CI/CD tools such bitbucket, Jenkins, rundeck, ansible etc.,

  • Good knowledge in traditional databases such as Oracle 11g/12c in writing queries, procedures and functions etc.,

  • Exposure and understanding the dimensions of data through visualisation tools such as Tableau, Micro Strategy.

  • Knowledge and experience in working with build tools such as Maven.

  • Good to have the understanding on the cloud technologies such as Azure and AWS.

  • Exposure to Node Js will be an added advantage.

  • Good understanding of and experience in projects (Agile methodology)
