Job Description

RESPONSIBILITY Manage profitable revenues and improved productivity of resources:

- Daily review with teams to track the status of production, manpower availability, to check for deviations and to provide necessary assistance to resolve the issues, if any

- To finalize optimum & efficient utilisation

- Implement best shop floor practices like TPM / TQM/ Shaan/ Muskaan / 1P-1P to drive the business towards GPTP

- Ensure cost leadership in production through better utilisation, cost saving measures and reduction in wastage

- To review & provide technical support to operations team for productivity enhancement (people, processes), de-bottlenecking and improving KPIs

- To ensure execution of production programme as per requirement at different stages of production cycle

- To direct the communication with HO – Group Sourcing through SCM for raw material receipts

Operational Monitoring

- Monitoring quarterly / yearly business plan and execution of the same

- Monitoring daily / monthly production targets and execution

- Monitoring breakdown trend and plan for development / upgradations for repetitive failures of machine

- Monitor cycle time for the operation of all critical machines and plan for upgradations

- Custodian of Safety, Health and Environment for the plant location

Ensure Quality Product and best in class emphasis on quality

- To develop quality checks, norms & controls at different stages of operations.

- To ensure quality norms at different stages of manufacturing (RM, Finished Goods)

- To initiate & coordinate with R & D and brand team for quality improvement projects

- To ensure upgradation of infrastructure to meet the market requirement

- Daily review with QA and operation teams to ensure Quality product by ensuring adherence to quality norms

- Ensure zero quality complaints

- Root Cause Analysis of COPQ

Monitor quality related issues

- Monitor quality related issues & take corrective and preventive action

- Monitor daily rework

- Address sourcing related issues by initiating follow up with SCM

Coordinate with HO and other departments

- To coordinate with the Projects team and take over the unit for early stabilisation

- Encourage new trials

- To coordinate with HO – Program Innovation Office for new product development

- To coordinate with Projects at HO for upgradation of existing infrastructure & availability of latest technology.

- To coordinate with R & D Business Partner for modifying existing processes for new raw materials & validation of products

- To coordinate with brand, R&D at HO for new products

- To coordinate with other group units for bench marking of KPI’s via manufacturing conferences

Budgetary Control and Monitoring

- Prepare / monitor budget

- Ensure nil overtime and high manpower productivity

- To optimise plant utilisation for best possible utility consumption.

- To upgrade existing processes for reduction in utility consumptions.

- To ensure control of process parameters to improve yields at different stages of operations.

- To ensure optimum deployment of available manpower

Systems Development and Automation & Compliance with TQM/ TPM systems

- Make quality reliable in every product and process

- To ensure progress of TQM & TPM activities of the department as per road map

- To ensure adherence to compliance related to quality & environment management systems

- To initiate & form task force teams for various improvement projects

- To ensure regular self-improvement programmes for appraisal & up gradation of manufacturing norms

- To upgrade skill & technical know-how of team members

- Review departmental KPI’s & systems

- To conduct shop floor meeting with workmen for sharing company’s expectation

People Development

- To improve productivity of people (cost wise, revenue wise, skill wise) to keep pace with increasing costs

- Review and monitor effective utilization of manpower resources

- Periodic review to ensure congenial work environment and action planning

- Conduct regular meetings on productivity monitoring, maintenance and quality related issues

- Identify training needs and monitoring training of trainees

- Attend training, seminars etc.

- Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to direct reports

- Plan and review performance of direct reports and provide developmental inputs.

- Identifying & developing talent.

- Building self-managed successful teams

- Succession Planning
