Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain updates in Copy editing
  • Manage administrative work related to Content
  • Complete technical edits of legal Web site copy. A technical edit should include review and correction of errors involving:
    Spelling ,Punctuation , Grammar
  • Sentence structure (i.e., noun - verb agreement)
  • Word usage (i.e., "their" "there" "you're" "your")
  • Voice consistency (i.e. singular - plural "we - our" "I - my")
  • Adhering to style guidelines and ensuring all content matches those guidelines
  • Recommend improvements to Web site copy and editorial materials
  • Adhere to documented processes and best practices
Qualification: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience 
Experience: Freshers interested in working with content intended for a US audience
Required Skills:
  • Familiarity with standard PC based business systems including Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledgeable in Associated Press (AP) style. (As part of the application process, candidates will be given a copy editing test that evaluates knowledge of AP style.) Familiarity with the Economist Stylebook or other style manuals preferred but not required
  • Should be familiar with Web 2.0 technologies, and preferably have experience with content management systems in a Windows environment

FindLaw is seeking an Associate Copy Editor to edit and restructure custom content written for law firm Websites. The content is intended to attract Internet users and convert them into law firm clients. In this role, you will be responsible for completing technical edits of legal Website copy. Proofreading skills and knowledge of Associated Press (AP) style are required.
