Key Responsibilities
Support artists and engineers in the use of the 3D art pipeline and user-facing engine tools
Provide hands-on support to artists and engineers in regard to asset performance and validation
Close collaboration with the Art Director to work within the visual style of the game
Identify opportunities for tool improvements
Develop 3D art pipeline tools and extensions with an eye towards usability and efficiency
Solve challenging technical issues in the 3D asset pipeline
Collaborate with engineers and testers to diagnose and resolve in-game problems
Inspire and empower the art team to optimize their processes
Work closely with the art Director to technically achieve the desired look and feel for the game
Create visual effects within the Unity game engine
Maintain and improve our character animation rig

Key Qualifications
3+ years of experience in game development, preferably with at least one mobile title shipped
Exceptional understanding of asset creation workflows with the ability to improve them
Skilled in Maya
Knowledge of the Amazon Lumberyard Game Engine
Ability to take direction well
Knowledge of Lumberyard particle systems
Ability to create exciting and dynamic game visual effects
Strong overall knowledge of Lumberyard
An amazing team player
A proficient cross-disciplinary communicator
Attention to detail and the ability to complete tasks to specification
Great time management skills in a fast-paced environment
Fluent in English, both verbally and written

Key Skills: Overview
The Technical Artist acts a bridge between the artists and programmers, ensuring the art content and features are easily integrated into the game, while respecting the artistic vision and technical constraints of the project. The technical Artist is tasked with creating visual effects in Unity, and with maintaining our character animation rig. The Technical Artist is the keeper of Art Pipelines, Art Processes, Art Tools and Art file organization.
