SAN Admin – Bangalore/Chennai – 5 to 7 years

About the team
This role is a part of ourRemote Infrastructure Management Team.Career level professional role requiring moderate skills with a high level of proficiency. Works independently with only administrative supervision, displaying independent judgment with the ability to overcome moderate obstacles and recognize early when issues should be escalated or a senior peer needs to be consulted. Consults senior peers on projects with the goal of continually building knowledge/experience while minimizing any risk to projects. Provides communication on issues or complex information to a wider audience after consultation with management or senior peers. Contributes to the development, documentation and implementation of change management procedures. Typically requires three to five years of experience in computer science or related technical field.

What you will be doing
• Completes backup and recovery, data migration, storage allocation, connectivity and storage reporting requests.
• Creates, removes and expands file systems and volumes.
• Provides SAN switch / director monitoring, configuration and support.
• Works with senior peers to develop change management procedures
• Creates investment proposals and presents concepts during team meetings, Provides assistance with system solution design.
• This opening requires to be working in night shift ( Week-Offs on Wed-Thu or Sat-Sun)

What you bring:

  • Effective fluent communication and team skills with an ability to cooperate present to and participate with peers/team members
  • Advanced knowledge of storage arrays, fabrics, and HBA
    • EMC VMAX and DMX arrays
    • NETAPPC-MOD or Any other NAS product.
    • IBM XIV, SVC Virtualization products.
    • Cisco/Brocade
  • Knowledge and experience with data replication concepts and tools
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new concepts and technologies as well as a personal commitment to stay current with latest technology concepts
  • Identifies and resolves less clearly defined problems using established procedures and/or protocols as guidelines
  • Experience with EMC VxFlex, Isilon, Vplex, HP 3PAR, IBM XIV or any other scale-out storage technologies, Service-Now Ticketing tool experience, willing to work with 24x7 Operations.
