Job Description
The Key activities performed by Sales Managers include account management, business development, market research, sales prospecting, lead generation, public relations, customer relationship management, event planning and coordination, logistics oversight, revenue management, and communications. They will also prepare proposals for clients and maintain well-organized event records. Event sales managers build relationships with internal and external partners and leverage these relationships to deliver innovative and memorable events.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities 
  • Create a unique venue hire and management experience with the conference and event organisers. 
  • Nurture and build relationships with current and potential corporate/private clients, conference agencies and corporate/private supporters. Work directly with key decisions makers, negotiating rates and confirming their venues, accommodation, meetings and event planning services. 
  • Work and communicate with Hotels, Venues, Destinations, Event Technology Service providers and Event Organizers. 
  • Responding to the RFQs and RFPs received from the prospective client, rates negotiation and order finalization. 
  • Preparing and delivering sales presentations, proposals and business meetings. 
  • Manage the sales and booking and orders including dealing with enquiries, following up with potential clients, meeting clients, and promoting offers. 
  • Plan and implement a sales and marketing strategy for the venue hire, event rooms and event planning and event technology functions, working to clear targets. 
  • Ensure that the booked services are delivered by the client servicing team, by ensuring detailed project management schedules are prepared, and staff are briefed on client needs and staffing requirements. 
  • Key account management, business development, market research, sales prospecting, lead generation, revenue management, and communications. 
  • To prepare proposals for clients and maintain well-organized event records. 
  • Work closely with other e-Commerce team members and product managers and others across the organization to drive product sales and marketing 
  • Operate and achieve the annual sales income and expenditure budgets and targets 
  • Assist the Senior Management Team to identify potential income generation opportunities from alternative strategies to ensure the organization’s long term financial viability 
  • Ensure effective systems for bookings and invoicing are in place, reviewing and updating business processes as necessary. 
  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of sales, department and budgetary reports as and when required. 
  • Other duties and tasks assigned by the management within the job scope. 


Knowledge Competencies/Skills
  • The ideal candidates should have a successful sales track record in direct sales and an ability to develop targeted prospect databases and leads. 
  • Should have 3-5 years of hotel sales or Banquet sales or event sales, venue sales or any such relevant work experience with proven track record. 
  • Should have excellent customer relationship management skills. 
  • Experience of successfully planning and delivering corporate/private events is preferable. 
  • Financial management skills, including formulating budgets, monitoring and control procedures. 
  • Excellent written communication skills for a variety of purposes including the preparation of reports, articles, minutes and plans using clear, unambiguous, persuasive language. 
  • Excellent verbal communication skills in order to deliver persuasive and effective presentations, sales pitches, networking, negotiations, internal communications and relationship management. 
  • Experience of having established and maintained efficient and effective project monitoring and evaluation systems. 
  • Ability to use email, Internet applications, MS Windows operating system, MS Office Package including MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word and Sales CRM Operations. 
  • Target driven with a proven sales ability, ability to prioritise and plan workload efficiently, 
  • Highly organised and self-motivated person who can efficiently and effectively manage a wide range of tasks and objectives. 
  • Ability to work well under pressure and priorities tasks, as directed as well as using own initiative. 
  • Strong team player acts like an owner, and ultimately focused on delivering results with high standards. Demonstrated highest level of integrity, intellectual honesty, and strong work ethic.
