Job Description:

The Rational Tools Administrator will be responsible for maintaining the daily operations for a suite of enterprise Rational tools, including Rational Jazz, Rational Functional Tester, Rational Performance Tester, and Rational Test Workbench. The Rational Administrator will be responsible for various aspects of Rational Tools management, including patch management, performance monitoring and capacity planning, troubleshooting, and end-user support. Must be a self-starter and able to work under aggressive deadlines. Participation in on-call rotation for support of production environments is required . They will perform user administrator for the Rational tools and provide Tier 2/3 help desk support. They will help support the transition of project teams to the Agile process by making the most effective use of the Rational tools, including expanding the use of automated testing using Rational Functional Tester or Rational Test Workbench.
Proficient knowledge and experience on DevOp and Agile software development process is must. Exposure to PLM and IOT domain would be a plus !
The position is based at Whirlpools offshore technology center at GTEC, Pune India and involves short term travels to Whirlpools global offices in US, Europe and Asia as per project needs Job Requirements:

  • At least 5+ years of experience in system administration roles for enterprise software applications.
  • Experience with administration of Rational software, including the majority of the following components: Rational Jazz, including DOORS Next Gen, Team Concert, Change and Configuration Management, Quality Manager, and Jazz Reporting Services
  • Rational Functional & Performance Tester
  • Expertise on Rational Test Workbench
  • Experienced with SSO implementation
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, Microsoft PowerShell, and Visual Studio
  • Experienced deploying and supporting Jazz in an enterprise topology
  • Knowledge of IBM WebSphere
  • Knowledge of SolarWinds
  • Administration of IBM Rational/Jazz tools consisting of Rational Team Concert, Rational Quality Manager, Doors NextGen.
  • Administration of Rational Licensing
  • Creation of workstation automated installs for Rational workstation client software.
  • Support of Rational tools end users (software developers, software testers, architects, and infrastructure team members).
  • Research of, planning for, and implementation of Rational tools patching
  • Creation and/or maintenance of Rational system documentation,including design, test plans, user guides, SOPs, work instructions
  • Identify gaps in the systems / process and propose / drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience working on Agile teams
  • Expertise in implementation and administration of IBM Rational tools (Jazz/RTC/RQM/DNG; Buildforge; ClearCase, ClearQuest; RAD/RFT/RPT/RSA)
  • Must have experience with both Windows and UNIX operating systems
  • Must have experience modifying application configuration files
  • Must be familiar with strategies for database backups, file system backups
  • Must have experience with common scripting languages
  • ITIL certification is desirable
