Quality Assurance Engineer (mid-level)

Position Description

The Quality Assurance Analyst Expert works closely with the QA Lead, Business Analyst, Quality Assurance and Development teams to produce quality software. The primary responsibilities of this role are to participate in design reviews, estimate testing tasks, create test documentation, perform quality testing and communicate results to the teams. As a team member, you will join a group of developers and test engineers who are experts in the latest software development technologies and are focused on creating the best possible software and experience for our customers.

Key Requirements

• Assess and determine testing coverage, risk, sufficiency, and limitations

• Conduct both functional and nonfunctional testing

• Research, learn, apply testing tools that can be used for a given project and its specific needs

• Provide domain knowledge and assistance to the automation team as needed

• Provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, and potential risks

• Quickly learn the domain and product/application to understand the end user and other stakeholder's needs and values

• Provide QA estimates for resource and project planning purposes

• Executes advanced tests according to established plans and scripts, documents problems in an issue log, and retests software corrections to ensure problems are resolved

• Creates test data files with valid and invalid records to thoroughly test program logic and verify system flow

• Able to maintain actual time logging and bug management system to report correct data.

• Create and maintain manual regression test suites

• Communicate with other departments to coordinate test and deployment activities

• Research problems reported in the production application and communicate results to the appropriate parties for resolution.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Total 4-7 years of experience in quality assurance and testing.

• Must have domain experience on BFSI domain with Lending as mandatory functional area.

• Strong verbal and written communications skills

• High level of curiosity, creativity, tenacity, and thoughtfulness

• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and be comfortable when things are unfamiliar or change

• High level of problem solving and troubleshooting ability

• Experience testing web based software is a plus

• Experience or familiarity with JIRA/Team Services, QTP, UFT, SOATest, SoapUI, Selenium or other related web testing tools

• Must to have knowledge of or experience with SQL, REST, SOAP, XML, JSON, SQL, .NET, C#, Ruby, or JQuery is a plus.

• Strong problem solving and analytical skills

• Strong time management skills

• Ability to work on multiple projects/tasks at one time

• Willingness to collaborate and work with a group

• Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile Methodologies

• ISTQB certification will be an added advantage.

Education Qualification:

• Full time B.E. / B. Tech or M.Tech or M.C.A or M.Sc. (Computer Science).
